1Sam.8.8

According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

1Sam.8.8

From the day I brought them out of Egypt until this very day they've been behaving like this, leaving me for other gods. And now they're doing it to you.

1Sam.8.8

As they have done from the day I brought them up out of Egypt until this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are doing to you.

1Sam.8.8

Ever since I brought them from Egypt they have continually forsaken me and followed other gods. And now they are giving you the same treatment.

1Sam.8.9

Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

1Sam.8.9

So let them have their own way. But warn them of what they're in for. Tell them the way kings operate, just what they're likely to get from a king."

1Sam.8.9

Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do."
