Num.12.1

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

Num.12.1

Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses behind his back because of his Cushite wife (he had married a Cushite woman).

Num.12.1

Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.

Num.12.1

Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married; for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

Num.12.1

While they were at Hazeroth, Miriam and Aaron criticized Moses because he had married a Cushite woman.

Num.12.2

And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.

Num.12.2

They said, "Is it only through Moses that GOD speaks? Doesn't he also speak through us?" GOD overheard their talk.

Num.12.2

"Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?" they asked. "Hasn't he also spoken through us?" And the LORD heard this.

Num.12.2

So they said, "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also?" And the LORD heard it.

Num.12.2

They said, "Has the LORD spoken only through Moses? Hasn't he spoken through us, too?" But the LORD heard them.

Num.12.3

(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

Num.12.3

Now the man Moses was a quietly humble man, more so than anyone living on Earth.

Num.12.3

(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)

Num.12.3

(Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.)

Num.12.3

Now Moses was more humble than any other person on earth.

Num.12.4

And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

Num.12.4

GOD broke in suddenly on Moses and Aaron and Miriam saying, "Come out, you three, to the Tent of Meeting." The three went out.

Num.12.4

At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, "Come out to the Tent of Meeting, all three of you." So the three of them came out.

Num.12.4

Suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, "Come out, you three, to the tabernacle of meeting!" So the three came out.

Num.12.4

So immediately the LORD called to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam and said, "Go out to the Tabernacle, all three of you!" And the three of them went out.

Num.12.5

And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

Num.12.5

GOD descended in a Pillar of Cloud and stood at the entrance to the Tent. He called Aaron and Miriam to him. When they stepped out,

Then the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the Tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them stepped forward,

Num.12.5

Then the LORD came down in the pillar of cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam. And they both went forward.

Num.12.5

Then the LORD descended in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle. "Aaron and Miriam!" he called, and they stepped forward.

Num.12.6

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

Num.12.6

he said, Listen carefully to what I'm telling you. If there is a prophet of GOD among you, I make myself known to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.

Num.12.6

he said, "Listen to my words: "When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.

Num.12.6

Then He said, If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream.

Num.12.6

And the LORD said to them, "Now listen to me! Even with prophets, I the LORD communicate by visions and dreams.

Num.12.7

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

Num.12.7

But I don't do it that way with my servant Moses; he has the run of my entire house;

Num.12.7

But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.

Num.12.7

Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.

Num.12.7

But that is not how I communicate with my servant Moses. He is entrusted with my entire house.

Num.12.8

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Num.12.8

I speak to him intimately, in person, in plain talk without riddles: He ponders the very form of GOD. So why did you show no reverence or respect in speaking against my servant, against Moses?

Num.12.8

With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"

Num.12.8

I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?"

Num.12.8

I speak to him face to face, directly and not in riddles! He sees the LORD as he is. Should you not be afraid to criticize him?"

Num.12.9

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Num.12.9

The anger of GOD blazed out against them. And then he left.

Num.12.9

The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them.

Num.12.9

So the anger of the LORD was aroused against them, and He departed.

Num.12.9

The LORD was furious with them, and he departed.

Num.12.10

And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

Num.12.10

When the Cloud moved off from the Tent, oh! Miriam had turned leprous, her skin like snow. Aaron took one look at Miriam--a leper!

Num.12.10

When the cloud lifted from above the Tent, there stood Miriam-leprous, like snow. Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had leprosy;

Num.12.10

And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.

Num.12.10

As the cloud moved from above the Tabernacle, Miriam suddenly became white as snow with leprosy. When Aaron saw what had happened,

Num.12.11

And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

Num.12.11

He said to Moses, "Please, my master, please don't come down so hard on us for this foolish and thoughtless sin.

Num.12.11

and he said to Moses, "Please, my lord, do not hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.

Num.12.11

So Aaron said to Moses, "Oh, my lord! Please do not lay this sin on us, in which we have done foolishly and in which we have sinned.

Num.12.11

he cried out to Moses, "Oh, my lord! Please don't punish us for this sin we have so foolishly committed.

Num.12.12

Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

Num.12.12

Please don't make her like a stillborn baby coming out of its mother's womb with half its body decomposed."

Num.12.12

Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother's womb with its flesh half eaten away."

Num.12.12

Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb!"

Num.12.12

Don't let her be like a stillborn baby, already decayed at birth."

Num.12.13

And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

Num.12.13

And Moses prayed to GOD: Please, God, heal her, please heal her.

Num.12.13

So Moses cried out to the LORD, "O God, please heal her!"

Num.12.13

So Moses cried out to the LORD, saying, "Please heal her, O God, I pray!"

Num.12.13

So Moses cried out to the LORD, "Heal her, O God, I beg you!"

Num.12.14

And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

Num.12.14

GOD answered Moses, "If her father had spat in her face, wouldn't she be ostracized for seven days? Quarantine her outside the camp for seven days. Then she can be readmitted to the camp."

Num.12.14

The LORD replied to Moses, "If her father had spit in her face, would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp for seven days; after that she can be brought back."

Num.12.14

Then the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had but spit in her face, would she not be shamed seven days? Let her be shut out of the camp seven days, and afterward she may be received again."

Num.12.14

And the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had spit in her face, wouldn't she have been defiled for seven days? Banish her from the camp for seven days, and after that she may return."

Num.12.15

And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

Num.12.15

So Miriam was in quarantine outside the camp for seven days. The people didn't march on until she was readmitted.

Num.12.15

So Miriam was confined outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on till she was brought back.

Num.12.15

So Miriam was shut out of the camp seven days, and the people did not journey till Miriam was brought in again.

Num.12.15

So Miriam was excluded from the camp for seven days, and the people waited until she was brought back before they traveled again.

Num.12.16

And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

Num.12.16

Only then did the people march from Hazeroth and set up camp in the Wilderness of Paran.

Num.12.16

After that, the people left Hazeroth and encamped in the Desert of Paran.

Num.12.16

And afterward the people moved from Hazeroth and camped in the Wilderness of Paran.

Num.12.16

Then they left Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.
