And now, Mountains, hear GOD's case; listen, Jury Earth--For I am bringing charges against my people. I am building a case against Israel.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

But he's already made it plain how to live, what to do, what GOD is looking for in men and women. It's quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don't take yourself too seriously--take God seriously.

Listen! The LORD is calling to the city- and to fear your name is wisdom- "Heed the rod and the One who appointed it.

The LORD's voice cries to the city-- Wisdom shall see Your name: "Hear the rod! Who has appointed it?

Listen! Fear the LORD if you are wise! His voice is calling out to everyone in Jerusalem: "The armies of destruction are coming; the LORD is sending them.

Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?

"Do you expect me to overlook obscene wealth you've piled up by cheating and fraud?

Will there be no end of your getting rich by cheating? The homes of the wicked are filled with treasures gained by dishonestly measuring out grain in short measures.

You have lived by the standards of your king, Omri, the decadent lifestyle of the family of Ahab. Because you've slavishly followed their fashions, I'm forcing you into bankruptcy. Your way of life will be laughed at, a tasteless joke. Your lives will be derided as futile and fake."
