Jonah.2.1

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,

Jonah.2.1

Then Jonah prayed to his God from the belly of the fish.

Jonah.2.1

From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God.

Jonah.2.1

Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the fish's belly.

Then Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from inside the fish.

Jonah.2.2

And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Jonah.2.2

He prayed: "In trouble, deep trouble, I prayed to GOD. He answered me. From the belly of the grave I cried, "Help!' You heard my cry.

Jonah.2.2

He said: "In my distress I called to the LORD, and he answered me. From the depths of the grave I called for help, and you listened to my cry.

Jonah.2.2

And he said: "I cried out to the LORD because of my affliction, And He answered me. "Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.

Jonah.2.2

He said, "I cried out to the LORD in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the world of the dead, and LORD, you heard me!

Jonah.2.3

For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.

Jonah.2.3

You threw me into ocean's depths, into a watery grave, With ocean waves, ocean breakers crashing over me.

Jonah.2.3

You hurled me into the deep, into the very heart of the seas, and the currents swirled about me; all your waves and breakers swept over me.

Jonah.2.3

For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.

Jonah.2.3

You threw me into the ocean depths, and I sank down to the heart of the sea. I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves.

Jonah.2.4

Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.

Jonah.2.4

I said, "I've been thrown away, thrown out, out of your sight. I'll never again lay eyes on your Holy Temple.'

Jonah.2.4

I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'

Jonah.2.4

Then I said, "I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.'

Jonah.2.4

Then I said, `O LORD, you have driven me from your presence. How will I ever again see your holy Temple?'

Jonah.2.5

The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

Jonah.2.5

Ocean gripped me by the throat. The ancient Abyss grabbed me and held tight. My head was all tangled in seaweed

Jonah.2.5

The engulfing waters threatened me, the deep surrounded me; seaweed was wrapped around my head.

Jonah.2.5

The waters surrounded me, even to my soul; The deep closed around me; Weeds were wrapped around my head.

Jonah.2.5

"I sank beneath the waves, and death was very near. The waters closed in around me, and seaweed wrapped itself around my head.

Jonah.2.6

I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.

Jonah.2.6

at the bottom of the sea where the mountains take root. I was as far down as a body can go, and the gates were slamming shut behind me forever--Yet you pulled me up from that grave alive, O GOD, my God!

Jonah.2.6

To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you brought my life up from the pit, O LORD my God.

Jonah.2.6

I went down to the moorings of the mountains; The earth with its bars closed behind me forever; Yet You have brought up my life from the pit, O LORD, my God.

Jonah.2.6

I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was locked out of life and imprisoned in the land of the dead. But you, O LORD my God, have snatched me from the yawning jaws of death!

Jonah.2.7

When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.

Jonah.2.7

When my life was slipping away, I remembered GOD, And my prayer got through to you, made it all the way to your Holy Temple.

Jonah.2.7

"When my life was ebbing away, I remembered you, LORD, and my prayer rose to you, to your holy temple.

Jonah.2.7

"When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD; And my prayer went up to You, Into Your holy temple.

Jonah.2.7

"When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more to the LORD. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.

Jonah.2.8

They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

Jonah.2.8

Those who worship hollow gods, god-frauds, walk away from their only true love.

Jonah.2.8

"Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.

Jonah.2.8

"Those who regard worthless idols Forsake their own Mercy.

Jonah.2.8

Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God's mercies.

Jonah.2.9

But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.

Jonah.2.9

But I'm worshiping you, GOD, calling out in thanksgiving! And I'll do what I promised I'd do! Salvation belongs to GOD!"

Jonah.2.9

But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the LORD."

Jonah.2.9

But I will sacrifice to You With the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD."

Jonah.2.9

But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the LORD alone."

Jonah.2.10

And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.

Jonah.2.10

Then GOD spoke to the fish, and it vomited up Jonah on the seashore.

Jonah.2.10

And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Jonah.2.10

So the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

Jonah.2.10

Then the LORD ordered the fish to spit up Jonah on the beach, and it did.
