Hos.14.1

O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

Hos.14.1

O Israel, come back! Return to your GOD! You're down but you're not out.

Hos.14.1

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God. Your sins have been your downfall!

O Israel, return to the LORD your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for your sins have brought you down.

Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

Hos.14.2

Prepare your confession and come back to GOD. Pray to him, "Take away our sin, accept our confession. Receive as restitution our repentant prayers.

Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.

Take words with you, And return to the LORD. Say to Him, "Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.

Hos.14.2

Bring your petitions, and return to the LORD. Say to him, "Forgive all our sins and graciously receive us, so that we may offer you the sacrifice of praise.

Hos.14.3

Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

Hos.14.3

Assyria won't save us; horses won't get us where we want to go. We'll never again say "our god' to something we've made or made up. You're our last hope. Is it not true that in you the orphan finds mercy?" [JC]

Assyria cannot save us; we will not mount war-horses. We will never again say 'Our gods' to what our own hands have made, for in you the fatherless find compassion."

Hos.14.3

Assyria shall not save us, We will not ride on horses, Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, "You are our gods.' For in You the fatherless finds mercy."

Hos.14.3

Assyria cannot save us, nor can our strength in battle. Never again will we call the idols we have made `our gods.' No, in you alone do the orphans find mercy."

I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

The LORD says, "Then I will heal you of your idolatry and faithlessness, and my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever!

I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.

I will make a fresh start with Israel. He'll burst into bloom like a crocus in the spring. He'll put down deep oak tree roots,

I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like a lily. Like a cedar of Lebanon he will send down his roots;

I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon.

Hos.14.5

I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven. It will blossom like the lily; it will send roots deep into the soil like the cedars in Lebanon.

His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

he'll become a forest of oaks! He'll become splendid--like a giant sequoia, his fragrance like a grove of cedars!

his young shoots will grow. His splendor will be like an olive tree, his fragrance like a cedar of Lebanon.

His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon.

Its branches will spread out like those of beautiful olive trees, as fragrant as the cedar forests of Lebanon.

Hos.14.7

They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.

Hos.14.7

Those who live near him will be blessed by him, be blessed and prosper like golden grain. Everyone will be talking about them, spreading their fame as the vintage children of God.

Men will dwell again in his shade. He will flourish like the grain. He will blossom like a vine, and his fame will be like the wine from Lebanon.

Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

My people will return again to the safety of their land. They will flourish like grain and blossom like grapevines. They will be as fragrant as the wines of Lebanon.

Hos.14.8

Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.

Hos.14.8

Ephraim is finished with gods that are no-gods. From now on I'm the one who answers and satisfies him. I am like a luxuriant fruit tree. Everything you need is to be found in me." [JC]

Hos.14.8

O Ephraim, what more have I to do with idols? I will answer him and care for him. I am like a green pine tree; your fruitfulness comes from me."

"Ephraim shall say, "What have I to do anymore with idols?' I have heard and observed him. I am like a green cypress tree; Your fruit is found in Me."

Hos.14.8

"O Israel, stay away from idols! I am the one who looks after you and cares for you. I am like a tree that is always green, giving my fruit to you all through the year."

Hos.14.9

Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

Hos.14.9

If you want to live well, make sure you understand all of this. If you know what's good for you, you'll learn this inside and out. GOD's paths get you where you want to go. Right-living people walk them easily; wrong-living people are always tripping and stumbling.

Hos.14.9

Who is wise? He will realize these things. Who is discerning? He will understand them. The ways of the LORD are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.

Hos.14.9

Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.

Hos.14.9

Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those who are discerning listen carefully. The paths of the LORD are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But sinners stumble and fall along the way.
