Ezek.37.1

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

Ezek.37.1

GOD grabbed me. GOD's Spirit took me up and sat me down in the middle of an open plain strewn with bones.

The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.

The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

The LORD took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the LORD to a valley filled with bones.

Ezek.37.2

And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

Ezek.37.2

He led me around and among them--a lot of bones! There were bones all over the plain--dry bones, bleached by the sun.

He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.

Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry.

He led me around among the old, dry bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground.

Ezek.37.3

And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

Ezek.37.3

He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "Master GOD, only you know that."

Ezek.37.3

He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "O Sovereign LORD, you alone know."

Ezek.37.3

And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" So I answered, "O Lord GOD, You know."

Ezek.37.3

Then he asked me, "Son of man, can these bones become living people again?O Sovereign LORD," I replied, "you alone know the answer to that."

Ezek.37.4

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

Ezek.37.4

He said to me, "Prophesy over these bones: "Dry bones, listen to the Message of GOD!'"

Ezek.37.4

Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!

Ezek.37.4

Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, "O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!

Ezek.37.4

Then he said to me, "Speak to these bones and say, `Dry bones, listen to the word of the LORD!

Ezek.37.5

Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

Ezek.37.5

GOD, the Master, told the dry bones, "Watch this: I'm bringing the breath of life to you and you'll come to life.

Ezek.37.5

This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.

Ezek.37.5

Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

Ezek.37.5

This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look! I am going to breathe into you and make you live again!

Ezek.37.6

And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

Ezek.37.6

I'll attach sinews to you, put meat on your bones, cover you with skin, and breathe life into you. You'll come alive and you'll realize that I am GOD!"

I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'"

I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.""'

Ezek.37.6

I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin. I will put breath into you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'"

Ezek.37.7

So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Ezek.37.7

I prophesied just as I'd been commanded. As I prophesied, there was a sound and, oh, rustling! The bones moved and came together, bone to bone.

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone.

So I spoke these words, just as he told me. Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as they had been before.

And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

I kept watching. Sinews formed, then muscles on the bones, then skin stretched over them. But they had no breath in them.

I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.

Ezek.37.9

Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

Ezek.37.9

He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath. Prophesy, son of man. Tell the breath, "GOD, the Master, says, Come from the four winds. Come, breath. Breathe on these slain bodies. Breathe life!'"

Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'"

Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.""'

Ezek.37.9

Then he said to me, "Speak to the winds and say: `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.'"

Ezek.37.10

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

So I prophesied, just as he commanded me. The breath entered them and they came alive! They stood up on their feet, a huge army.

So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet-a vast army.

So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

So I spoke as he commanded me, and the wind entered the bodies, and they began to breathe. They all came to life and stood up on their feet--a great army of them.

Ezek.37.11

Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.

Ezek.37.11

Then God said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Listen to what they're saying: "Our bones are dried up, our hope is gone, there's nothing left of us.'

Ezek.37.11

Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.'

Ezek.37.11

Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, "Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!'

Ezek.37.11

Then he said to me, "Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, `We have become old, dry bones--all hope is gone.'

Ezek.37.12

Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Ezek.37.12

"Therefore, prophesy. Tell them, "GOD, the Master, says: I'll dig up your graves and bring you out alive--O my people! Then I'll take you straight to the land of Israel.

Ezek.37.12

Therefore prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

Ezek.37.12

Therefore prophesy and say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Ezek.37.12

Now give them this message from the Sovereign LORD: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

Ezek.37.13

And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

Ezek.37.13

When I dig up graves and bring you out as my people, you'll realize that I am GOD.

Ezek.37.13

Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.

Ezek.37.13

Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.

Ezek.37.13

When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the LORD.

Ezek.37.14

And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Ezek.37.14

I'll breathe my life into you and you'll live. Then I'll lead you straight back to your land and you'll realize that I am GOD. I've said it and I'll do it. GOD's Decree.'" [JC]

Ezek.37.14

I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.'"

Ezek.37.14

I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it," says the LORD."'

Ezek.37.14

I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live and return home to your own land. Then you will know that I am the LORD. You will see that I have done everything just as I promised. I, the LORD, have spoken!"

Ezek.37.15

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,

Again a message came to me from the LORD:

Ezek.37.16

Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

Ezek.37.16

"You, son of man: Take a stick and write on it, "For Judah, with his Israelite companions.' Then take another stick and write on it, "For Joseph--Ephraim's stick, together with all his Israelite companions.'

Ezek.37.16

"Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, 'Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.' Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, 'Ephraim's stick, belonging to Joseph and all the house of Israel associated with him.'

Ezek.37.16

"As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: "For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.' Then take another stick and write on it, "For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.'

Ezek.37.16

"Son of man, take a stick and carve on it these words: `This stick represents Judah and its allied tribes.' Then take another stick and carve these words on it: `This stick represents the northern tribes of Israel.'

Ezek.37.17

And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.

Ezek.37.17

Then tie the two sticks together so that you're holding one stick.

Ezek.37.17

Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.

Ezek.37.17

Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand.

Now hold them together in your hand as one stick.

And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these?

"When your people ask you, "Are you going to tell us what you're doing?'

Ezek.37.18

"When your countrymen ask you, 'Won't you tell us what you mean by this?'

Ezek.37.18

"And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, "Will you not show us what you mean by these?'--

Ezek.37.18

When your people ask you what your actions mean,

Ezek.37.19

Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

Ezek.37.19

tell them, "GOD, the Master, says, Watch me! I'll take the Joseph stick that is in Ephraim's hand, with the tribes of Israel connected with him, and lay the Judah stick on it. I'll make them into one stick. I'm holding one stick.'

Ezek.37.19

say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph-which is in Ephraim's hand-and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah's stick, making them a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.'

Ezek.37.19

say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand."'

Ezek.37.19

say to them, `This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the northern tribes and join them to Judah. I will make them one stick in my hand.'

Ezek.37.20

And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

Ezek.37.20

"Then take the sticks you've inscribed and hold them up so the people can see them.

Ezek.37.20

Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on

Ezek.37.20

And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.

Ezek.37.20

Then hold out the sticks you have inscribed, so the people can see them.

Ezek.37.21

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

Ezek.37.21

Tell them, "GOD, the Master, says, Watch me! I'm taking the Israelites out of the nations in which they've been exiled. I'll gather them in from all directions and bring them back home.

Ezek.37.21

and say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

Ezek.37.21

"Then say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD: "Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;

Ezek.37.21

And give them this message from the Sovereign LORD: I will gather the people of Israel from among the nations. I will bring them home to their own land from the places where they have been scattered.

Ezek.37.22

And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

I'll make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and give them one king--one king over all of them. Never again will they be divided into two nations, two kingdoms.

I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.

and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again.

I will unify them into one nation in the land. One king will rule them all; no longer will they be divided into two nations.

Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezek.37.23

Never again will they pollute their lives with their no-god idols and all those vile obscenities and rebellions. I'll save them out of all their old sinful haunts. I'll clean them up. They'll be my people! I'll be their God!

Ezek.37.23

They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezek.37.23

They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Ezek.37.23

They will stop polluting themselves with their detestable idols and other sins, for I will save them from their sinful backsliding. I will cleanse them. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezek.37.24

And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

Ezek.37.24

My servant David will be king over them. They'll all be under one shepherd. They'll follow my laws and keep my statutes.

"'My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.

Ezek.37.24

"David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them.

Ezek.37.24

"My servant David will be their king, and they will have only one shepherd. They will obey my regulations and keep my laws.

Ezek.37.25

And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.

Ezek.37.25

They'll live in the same land I gave my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their grandchildren will live there forever, and my servant David will be their prince forever.

They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.

Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children's children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever.

Ezek.37.25

They will live in the land of Israel where their ancestors lived, the land I gave my servant Jacob. They and their children and their grandchildren after them will live there forever, generation after generation. And my servant David will be their prince forever.

Ezek.37.26

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.

Ezek.37.26

I'll make a covenant of peace with them that will hold everything together, an everlasting covenant. I'll make them secure and place my holy place of worship at the center of their lives forever.

Ezek.37.26

I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.

Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore.

And I will make a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant. I will give them their land and multiply them, and I will put my Temple among them forever.

Ezek.37.27

My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I'll live right there with them. I'll be their God! They'll be my people!

My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.

And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

The nations will realize that I, GOD, make Israel holy when my holy place of worship is established at the center of their lives forever.'"

Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.'"

The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.""'

Ezek.37.28

And since my Temple will remain among them forever, the nations will know that I, the LORD, have set Israel apart for myself to be holy."
