Ezek.2.1

And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

Ezek.2.1

It said, "Son of man, stand up. I have something to say to you."

Ezek.2.1

He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you."

Ezek.2.1

And He said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you."

Ezek.2.1

"Stand up, son of man," said the voice. "I want to speak with you."

Ezek.2.2

And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.

Ezek.2.2

The moment I heard the voice, the Spirit entered me and put me on my feet. As he spoke to me, I listened.

Ezek.2.2

As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.

Ezek.2.2

Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me.

Ezek.2.2

The Spirit came into me as he spoke and set me on my feet. I listened carefully to his words.

Ezek.2.3

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.

Ezek.2.3

He said, "Son of man, I'm sending you to the family of Israel, a rebellious nation if there ever was one. They and their ancestors have fomented rebellion right up to the present.

Ezek.2.3

He said: "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their fathers have been in revolt against me to this very day.

Ezek.2.3

And He said to me: "Son of man, I am sending you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me; they and their fathers have transgressed against Me to this very day.

Ezek.2.3

"Son of man," he said, "I am sending you to the nation of Israel, a nation that is rebelling against me. Their ancestors have rebelled against me from the beginning, and they are still in revolt to this very day.

Ezek.2.4

For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.

Ezek.2.4

They're a hard case, these people to whom I'm sending you--hardened in their sin. Tell them, "This is the Message of GOD, the Master.'

Ezek.2.4

The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.'

Ezek.2.4

For they are impudent and stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you shall say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD.'

Ezek.2.4

They are a hard-hearted and stubborn people. But I am sending you to say to them, `This is what the Sovereign LORD says!'

Ezek.2.5

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

Ezek.2.5

They are a defiant bunch. Whether or not they listen, at least they'll know that a prophet's been here.

Ezek.2.5

And whether they listen or fail to listen-for they are a rebellious house-they will know that a prophet has been among them.

Ezek.2.5

As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse--for they are a rebellious house--yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.

Ezek.2.5

And whether they listen or not--for remember, they are rebels--at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.

Ezek.2.6

And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Ezek.2.6

But don't be afraid of them, son of man, and don't be afraid of anything they say. Don't be afraid when living among them is like stepping on thorns or finding scorpions in your bed. Don't be afraid of their mean words or their hard looks. They're a bunch of rebels.

Ezek.2.6

And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house.

Ezek.2.6

"And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

Ezek.2.6

"Son of man, do not fear them. Don't be afraid even though their threats are sharp as thorns and barbed like briers, and they sting like scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls. For remember, they are rebels!

Ezek.2.7

And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

Ezek.2.7

Your job is to speak to them. Whether they listen is not your concern. They're hardened rebels.

Ezek.2.7

You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

Ezek.2.7

You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious.

Ezek.2.7

You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won't listen, for they are completely rebellious!

Ezek.2.8

But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

Ezek.2.8

"Only take care, son of man, that you don't rebel like these rebels. Open your mouth and eat what I give you."

Ezek.2.8

But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."

Ezek.2.8

But you, son of man, hear what I say to you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you."

Ezek.2.8

Son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not join them in being a rebel. Open your mouth, and eat what I give you."

And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;

Ezek.2.9

When I looked he had his hand stretched out to me, and in the hand a book, a scroll.

Ezek.2.9

Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll,

Ezek.2.9

Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.

Ezek.2.9

Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me, and it held a scroll.

Ezek.2.10

And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

He unrolled the scroll. On both sides, front and back, were written lamentations and mourning and doom.

which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe.

Ezek.2.10

Then He spread it before me; and there was writing on the inside and on the outside, and written on it were lamentations and mourning and woe.

Ezek.2.10

He unrolled it, and I saw that both sides were covered with funeral songs, other words of sorrow, and pronouncements of doom.
