For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;

Jer.33.4

"This is what GOD, the God of Israel, has to say about what's going on in this city, about the homes of both people and kings that have been demolished, about all the ravages of war

Jer.33.8

I will cleanse away their sins against me, and I will forgive all their sins of rebellion.

Jer.33.9

And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

But the time is coming when you're going to hear laughter and celebration, marriage festivities, people exclaiming, "Thank GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies. He's so good! His love never quits," as they bring thank offerings into GOD's Temple. I'll restore everything that was lost in this land. I'll make everything as good as new.' I, GOD, say so.

For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first,' says the LORD.

Jer.33.11

the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the LORD. In the cities of the mountains, in the cities of the vale, and in the cities of the south, and in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, shall the flocks pass again under the hands of him that telleth them, saith the LORD.

Jer.33.13

Jer.33.15

In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

Jer.33.15

When that time comes, I will make a fresh and true shoot sprout from the David-Tree. He will run this country honestly and fairly. He will set things right.

Jer.33.15

"'In those days and at that time I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David's line; he will do what is just and right in the land.

In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.

That's when Judah will be secure and Jerusalem live in safety. The motto for the city will be, "GOD Has Set Things Right for Us."

Jer.33.16

In that day Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will live in safety. And their motto will be `The LORD is our righteousness!'

Jer.33.17

For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

Jer.33.17

GOD has made it clear that there will always be a descendant of David ruling the people of Israel

Jer.33.17

For this is what the LORD says: 'David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

Jer.33.17

"For thus says the LORD: "David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

Jer.33.17

For this is what the LORD says: David will forever have a descendant sitting on the throne of Israel.

Jer.33.18

Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.

Jer.33.18

and that there will always be Levitical priests on hand to offer burnt offerings, present grain offerings, and carry on the sacrificial worship in my honor.'" [JC]

Jer.33.18

nor will the priests, who are Levites, ever fail to have a man to stand before me continually to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to present sacrifices.'"

Jer.33.18

nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually."'

Jer.33.18

And there will always be Levitical priests to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings and sacrifices to me."

Jer.33.19

And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,

Jer.33.19

GOD's Message to Jeremiah:

Jer.33.19

The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

Jer.33.19

And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

Jer.33.19

Then this message came to Jeremiah from the LORD:

Jer.33.20

Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;

Jer.33.20

"GOD says, "If my covenant with day and my covenant with night ever fell apart so that day and night became haphazard and you never knew which was coming and when,

Jer.33.20

"This is what the LORD says: 'If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,

Jer.33.20

"Thus says the LORD: "If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season,

Jer.33.20

"If you can break my covenant with the day and the night so that they do not come on their usual schedule,

Jer.33.21

Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.

Jer.33.21

then and only then would my covenant with my servant David fall apart and his descendants no longer rule. The same goes for the Levitical priests who serve me.

Jer.33.21

then my covenant with David my servant-and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me-can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.

Jer.33.21

then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers.

Jer.33.21

only then will my covenant with David, my servant, be broken. Only then will he no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne. The same is true for my covenant with the Levitical priests who minister before me.

Jer.33.22

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

Jer.33.22

Just as you can't number the stars in the sky nor measure the sand on the seashore, neither will you be able to account for the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who serve me.'" [JC]

Jer.33.22

I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars of the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.'"

Jer.33.22

As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me."'

Jer.33.22

And as the stars cannot be counted and the sand on the seashores cannot be measured, so I will multiply the descendants of David, my servant, and the Levites who minister before me."

Jer.33.23

Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

Jer.33.23

GOD's Message to Jeremiah:

Jer.33.23

The word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:

Jer.33.23

Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

Jer.33.23

The LORD gave another message to Jeremiah. He said,

Jer.33.24

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

Jer.33.24

"Have you heard the saying that's making the rounds: "The two families GOD chose, Israel and Judah, he disowned'? And have you noticed that my people are treated with contempt, with rumors afoot that there's nothing to them anymore?

Jer.33.24

"Have you not noticed that these people are saying, 'The LORD has rejected the two kingdoms he chose'? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation.

Jer.33.24

"Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, "The two families which the LORD has chosen, He has also cast them off|'? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them.

Jer.33.24

"Have you heard what people are saying?--`The LORD chose Judah and Israel and then abandoned them!' They are sneering and saying that Israel is not worthy to be counted as a nation.

Jer.33.25

Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;

Jer.33.25

"Well, here's GOD's response: "If my covenant with day and night wasn't in working order, if sky and earth weren't functioning the way I set them going,

Jer.33.25

This is what the LORD says: 'If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed laws of heaven and earth,

Jer.33.25

"Thus says the LORD: "If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth,

Jer.33.25

But this is the LORD's reply: I would no more reject my people than I would change my laws of night and day, of earth and sky.

Jer.33.26

Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

Jer.33.26

then, but only then, you might think I had disowned the descendants of Jacob and of my servant David, and that I wouldn't set up any of David's descendants over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But as it is, I will give them back everything they've lost. The last word is, I will have mercy on them.'"

Jer.33.26

then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.'"

Jer.33.26

then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them."'

Jer.33.26

I will never abandon the descendants of Jacob or David, my servant, or change the plan that David's descendants will rule the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Instead, I will restore them to their land and have mercy on them."
