Isa.43.1

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

Isa.43.1

But now, GOD's Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine.

Isa.43.1

But now, this is what the LORD says- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

Isa.43.1

But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine.

Isa.43.1

But now, O Israel, the LORD who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.

Isa.43.2

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

Isa.43.2

When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end--

Isa.43.2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Isa.43.2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.

Isa.43.2

When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

Isa.43.3

For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

Isa.43.3

Because I am GOD, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!

Isa.43.3

For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead.

Isa.43.3

For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

Isa.43.3

For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt, Ethiopia, and Seba as a ransom for your freedom.

Isa.43.4

Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

Isa.43.4

That's how much you mean to me! That's how much I love you! I'd sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.

Isa.43.4

Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.

Isa.43.4

Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life.

Isa.43.4

Others died that you might live. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.

Isa.43.5

Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

Isa.43.5

"So don't be afraid: I'm with you. I'll round up all your scattered children, pull them in from east and west.

Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.

Isa.43.5

Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, And gather you from the west;

Isa.43.5

"Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west

Isa.43.6

I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

Isa.43.6

I'll send orders north and south: "Send them back. Return my sons from distant lands, my daughters from faraway places.

I will say to the north, 'Give them up!' and to the south, 'Do not hold them back.' Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth-

Isa.43.6

I will say to the north, "Give them up!' And to the south, "Do not keep them back!' Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth--

Isa.43.6

and from north and south. I will bring my sons and daughters back to Israel from the distant corners of the earth.

Isa.43.7

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Isa.43.7

I want them back, every last one who bears my name, every man, woman, and child Whom I created for my glory, yes, personally formed and made each one.'" [JC]

everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him."

Isa.43.7

All who claim me as their God will come, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them."

Isa.43.8

Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

Isa.43.8

Get the blind and deaf out here and ready--the blind (though there's nothing wrong with their eyes) and the deaf (though there's nothing wrong with their ears).

Isa.43.8

Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.

Isa.43.8

Bring out the blind people who have eyes, And the deaf who have ears.

Isa.43.8

Bring out the people who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf.

Isa.43.9

Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

Isa.43.9

Then get the other nations out here and ready. Let's see what they have to say about this, how they account for what's happened. Let them present their expert witnesses and make their case; let them try to convince us what they say is true.

Isa.43.9

All the nations gather together and the peoples assemble. Which of them foretold this and proclaimed to us the former things? Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right, so that others may hear and say, "It is true."

Isa.43.9

Let all the nations be gathered together, And let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this, And show us former things? Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified; Or let them hear and say, "It is truth."

Isa.43.9

Gather the nations together! Which of their idols has ever foretold such things? Can any of them predict something even a single day in advance? Where are the witnesses of such predictions? Who can verify that they spoke the truth?

Isa.43.10

Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Isa.43.10

"But you are my witnesses." GOD's Decree. "You're my handpicked servant So that you'll come to know and trust me, understand both that I am and who I am. Previous to me there was no such thing as a god, nor will there be after me.

Isa.43.10

"You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.

Isa.43.10

"You are My witnesses," says the LORD, "And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.

Isa.43.10

"But you are my witnesses, O Israel!" says the LORD. "And you are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God; there never has been and never will be.

Isa.43.11

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Isa.43.11

I, yes I, am GOD. I'm the only Savior there is.

Isa.43.11

I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior.

Isa.43.11

I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior.

Isa.43.11

I am the LORD, and there is no other Savior.

Isa.43.12

I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

Isa.43.12

I spoke, I saved, I told you what existed long before these upstart gods appeared on the scene. And you know it, you're my witnesses, you're the evidence." GOD's Decree. "Yes, I am God.

I have revealed and saved and proclaimed- I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "that I am God.

Isa.43.12

I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses," Says the LORD, "that I am God.

Isa.43.12

First I predicted your deliverance; I declared what I would do, and then I did it--I saved you. No foreign god has ever done this before. You are witnesses that I am the only God," says the LORD.

Isa.43.13

Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

Isa.43.13

I've always been God and I always will be God. No one can take anything from me. I make; who can unmake it?"

Isa.43.13

Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?"

Isa.43.13

Indeed before the day was, I am He; And there is no one who can deliver out of My hand; I work, and who will reverse it?"

Isa.43.13

"From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can oppose what I do. No one can reverse my actions."

Isa.43.14

Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

Isa.43.14

GOD, your Redeemer, The Holy of Israel, says: "Just for you, I will march on Babylon. I'll turn the tables on the Babylonians. Instead of whooping it up, they'll be wailing.

Isa.43.14

This is what the LORD says- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon and bring down as fugitives all the Babylonians, in the ships in which they took pride.

Isa.43.14

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon, And bring them all down as fugitives-- The Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships.

Isa.43.14

The LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, says: "For your sakes I will send an invading army against Babylon. And the Babylonians will be forced to flee in those ships they are so proud of.

Isa.43.15

I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

Isa.43.15

I am GOD, your Holy One, Creator of Israel, your King."

Isa.43.15

I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel's Creator, your King."

Isa.43.15

I am the LORD, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King."

Isa.43.15

I am the LORD, your Holy One, Israel's Creator and King.

Isa.43.16

Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

Isa.43.16

This is what GOD says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves,

Isa.43.16

This is what the LORD says- he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters,

Isa.43.16

Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,

Isa.43.16

I am the LORD, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea.

Isa.43.17

Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

Isa.43.17

The God who summons horses and chariots and armies--they lie down and then can't get up; they're snuffed out like so many candles:

Isa.43.17

who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

Isa.43.17

Who brings forth the chariot and horse, The army and the power (They shall lie down together, they shall not rise; They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick):

Isa.43.17

I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick.

Isa.43.18

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

Isa.43.18

"Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history.

Isa.43.18

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

Isa.43.18

"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.

Isa.43.18

"But forget all that--it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.

Isa.43.19

Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Isa.43.19

Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new. It's bursting out! Don't you see it? There it is! I'm making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.

Isa.43.19

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

Isa.43.19

Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Isa.43.19

For I am about to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness for my people to come home. I will create rivers for them in the desert!

Isa.43.20

The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

Isa.43.20

Wild animals will say "Thank you!' -the coyotes and the buzzards--Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sun--baked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose,

Isa.43.20

The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the desert and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

Isa.43.20

The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen.

Isa.43.20

The wild animals in the fields will thank me, the jackals and ostriches, too, for giving them water in the wilderness. Yes, I will make springs in the desert, so that my chosen people can be refreshed.

Isa.43.21

This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

Isa.43.21

the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.

Isa.43.21

the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.

Isa.43.21

This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.

Isa.43.21

I have made Israel for myself, and they will someday honor me before the whole world.

Isa.43.22

But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

Isa.43.22

"But you didn't pay a bit of attention to me, Jacob. You so quickly tired of me, Israel.

Isa.43.22

"Yet you have not called upon me, O Jacob, you have not wearied yourselves for me, O Israel.

Isa.43.22

"But you have not called upon Me, O Jacob; And you have been weary of Me, O Israel.

Isa.43.22

"But, my dear people, you refuse to ask for my help. You have grown tired of me!

Isa.43.23

Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

Isa.43.23

You wouldn't even bring sheep for offerings in worship. You couldn't be bothered with sacrifices. It wasn't that I asked that much from you. I didn't expect expensive presents.

Isa.43.23

You have not brought me sheep for burnt offerings, nor honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with grain offerings nor wearied you with demands for incense.

Isa.43.23

You have not brought Me the sheep for your burnt offerings, Nor have you honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not caused you to serve with grain offerings, Nor wearied you with incense.

Isa.43.23

You have not brought me lambs for burnt offerings. You have not honored me with sacrifices, though I have not burdened and wearied you with my requests for grain offerings and incense.

Isa.43.24

Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

Isa.43.24

But you didn't even do the minimum--so stingy with me, so closefisted. Yet you haven't been stingy with your sins. You've been plenty generous with them--and I'm fed up.

Isa.43.24

You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses.

Isa.43.24

You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, Nor have you satisfied Me with the fat of your sacrifices; But you have burdened Me with your sins, You have wearied Me with your iniquities.

Isa.43.24

You have not brought me fragrant incense or pleased me with the fat from sacrifices. Instead, you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your faults.

Isa.43.25

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

Isa.43.25

"But I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins--that's what I do. I don't keep a list of your sins.

Isa.43.25

"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Isa.43.25

"I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.

Isa.43.25

"I--yes, I alone--am the one who blots out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.

Isa.43.26

Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

Isa.43.26

"So, make your case against me. Let's have this out. Make your arguments. Prove you're in the right.

Isa.43.26

Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.

Isa.43.26

Put Me in remembrance; Let us contend together; State your case, that you may be acquitted.

Isa.43.26

Let us review the situation together, and you can present your case if you have one.

Isa.43.27

Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

Isa.43.27

Your original ancestor started the sinning, and everyone since has joined in.

Isa.43.27

Your first father sinned; your spokesmen rebelled against me.

Isa.43.27

Your first father sinned, And your mediators have transgressed against Me.

Isa.43.27

From the very beginning, your ancestors sinned against me--all your leaders broke my laws.

Isa.43.28

Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.

Isa.43.28

That's why I had to disqualify the Temple leaders, repudiate Jacob and discredit Israel.

Isa.43.28

So I will disgrace the dignitaries of your temple, and I will consign Jacob to destruction and Israel to scorn.

Isa.43.28

Therefore I will profane the princes of the sanctuary; I will give Jacob to the curse, And Israel to reproaches.

Isa.43.28

That is why I have disgraced your priests and assigned Israel a future of complete destruction and shame.
