Exod.30.1

And thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittim wood shalt thou make it.

"Make an Altar for burning incense. Construct it from acacia wood,

"You shall make an altar to burn incense on; you shall make it of acacia wood.

A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.

It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high -its horns of one piece with it.

It must be eighteen inches square and three feet high, with horns at the corners carved from the same piece of wood as the altar.

And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, the top thereof, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns thereof; and thou shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

Cover it with a veneer of pure gold, its top, sides, and horns, and make a gold molding around it

Overlay the top, sides, and horns of the altar with pure gold, and run a gold molding around the entire altar.

And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under the crown of it, by the two corners thereof, upon the two sides of it shalt thou make it; and they shall be for places for the staves to bear it withal.

with two rings of gold beneath the molding. Place the rings on the two opposing sides to serve as holders for poles by which it will be carried.

Make two gold rings for the altar below the molding-two on opposite sides-to hold the poles used to carry it.

Two gold rings you shall make for it, under the molding on both its sides. You shall place them on its two sides, and they will be holders for the poles with which to bear it.

Beneath the molding, on opposite sides of the altar, attach two gold rings to support the carrying poles.

And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

"Place the Altar in front of the curtain that hides the Chest of The Testimony, in front of the Atonement-Cover that is over The Testimony where I will meet you.

And you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with you.

Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain, opposite the Ark's cover--the place of atonement--that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. I will meet with you there.

Exod.30.7

And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.

Aaron will burn fragrant incense on it every morning when he polishes the lamps,

"Aaron shall burn on it sweet incense every morning; when he tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it.

"Every morning when Aaron trims the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar.

And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

and again in the evening as he prepares the lamps for lighting, so that there will always be incense burning before GOD, generation after generation.

He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the LORD for the generations to come.

And when Aaron lights the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense on it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.

And each evening when he tends to the lamps, he must again burn incense in the LORD's presence. This must be done from generation to generation.

Exod.30.9

Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.

Exod.30.9

But don't burn on this Altar any unholy incense or Whole-Burnt-Offering or Grain-Offering. And don't pour out Drink-Offerings on it.

Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it.

Exod.30.9

You shall not offer strange incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering; nor shall you pour a drink offering on it.

Do not offer any unholy incense on this altar, or any burnt offerings, grain offerings, or drink offerings.

Exod.30.10

And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.

Once a year Aaron is to purify the Altar horns. Using the blood of the Absolution-Offering of atonement, he is to make this atonement every year down through the generations. It is most holy to GOD."

Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the LORD."

And Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonement; once a year he shall make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the LORD."

"Once a year Aaron must purify the altar by placing on its horns the blood from the offering made for the atonement of sin. This will be a regular, annual event from generation to generation, for this is the LORD's supremely holy altar."

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them.

"When you take a head count of the Israelites to keep track of them, all must pay an atonement-tax to GOD for their life at the time of being registered so that nothing bad will happen because of the registration.

"When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them.

"When you take the census of the children of Israel for their number, then every man shall give a ransom for himself to the LORD, when you number them, that there may be no plague among them when you number them.

"Whenever you take a census of the people of Israel, each man who is counted must pay a ransom for himself to the LORD. Then there will be no plagues among the people as you count them.

Exod.30.13

This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD.

Everyone who gets counted is to give a half-shekel (using the standard Sanctuary shekel of a fifth of an ounce to the shekel)-a half-shekel offering to GOD.

Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD.

This is what everyone among those who are numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel is twenty gerahs). The half-shekel shall be an offering to the LORD.

His payment to the LORD will be one-fifth of an ounce of silver.

Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD.

Everyone counted, age twenty and up, is to make the offering to GOD.

All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD.

The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

The rich are not to pay more nor the poor less than the half-shekel offering to GOD, the atonement-tax for your lives.

The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives.

The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves.

When this offering is given to the LORD to make atonement for yourselves, the rich must not give more, and the poor must not give less.

And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

Take the atonement-tax money from the Israelites and put it to the maintenance of the Tent of Meeting. It will be a memorial fund for the Israelites in honor of GOD, making atonement for your lives."

Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives."

And you shall take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of meeting, that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD, to make atonement for yourselves."

Use this money for the care of the Tabernacle. It will bring you, the Israelites, to the LORD's attention, and it will make atonement for your lives."

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

"Make a bronze Washbasin; make it with a bronze base. Place it between the Tent of Meeting and the Altar. Put water in it.

"Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it.

"You shall also make a laver of bronze, with its base also of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. And you shall put water in it,

"Make a large bronze washbasin with a bronze pedestal. Put it between the Tabernacle and the altar, and fill it with water.

For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:

When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:

When they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the Altar to serve there or offer gift offerings to GOD, they are to wash so they will not die.

Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made to the LORD by fire,

When they go into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to the LORD, they shall wash with water, lest they die.

before they go into the Tabernacle to appear before the LORD and before they approach the altar to burn offerings to the LORD. They must always wash before ministering in these ways, or they will die.

So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations.

They are to wash their hands and their feet so they will not die. This is the rule forever, for Aaron and his sons down through the generations."

Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels,

"Take the best spices: twelve and a half pounds of liquid myrrh; half that much, six and a quarter pounds, of fragrant cinnamon; six and a quarter pounds of fragrant cane;

"Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane,

"Also take for yourself quality spices--five hundred shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much sweet-smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane,

"Collect choice spices--12 1/2 pounds of pure myrrh, 6 1/4 pounds each of cinnamon and of sweet cane,

And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin:

twelve and a half pounds of cassia--using the standard Sanctuary weight for all of them--and a gallon of olive oil.

500 shekels of cassia-all according to the sanctuary shekel-and a hin of olive oil.

five hundred shekels of cassia, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil.

12 1/2 pounds of cassia, and one gallon of olive oil.

Exod.30.25

And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil.

Make these into a holy anointing oil, a perfumer's skillful blend.

Exod.30.25

Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil.

And you shall make from these a holy anointing oil, an ointment compounded according to the art of the perfumer. It shall be a holy anointing oil.

Blend these ingredients into a holy anointing oil.

And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the congregation therewith, and the ark of the testimony,

Tell the Israelites, "This will be my holy anointing oil throughout your generations.'

Say to the Israelites, 'This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come.

"And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: "This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations.

And say to the people of Israel, `This will always be my holy anointing oil.

Upon man's flesh shall it not be poured, neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it: it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you.

Exod.30.32

Don't pour it on ordinary men. Don't copy this mixture to use for yourselves. It's holy; keep it holy.

Do not pour it on men's bodies and do not make any oil with the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred.

It shall not be poured on man's flesh; nor shall you make any other like it, according to its composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you.

It must never be poured on the body of an ordinary person, and you must never make any of it for yourselves. It is holy, and you must treat it as holy.

Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.

Whoever mixes up anything like it, or puts it on an ordinary person, will be expelled."

Whoever makes perfume like it and whoever puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from his people.'"

Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on an outsider, shall be cut off from his people."'

Anyone who blends scented oil like it or puts any of it on someone who is not a priest will be cut off from the community.'"

Exod.30.34

And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum; these sweet spices with pure frankincense: of each shall there be a like weight:

GOD spoke to Moses: "Take fragrant spices--gum resin, onycha, galbanum--and add pure frankincense. Mix the spices in equal proportions

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take fragrant spices-gum resin, onycha and galbanum-and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts,

And the LORD said to Moses: "Take sweet spices, stacte and onycha and galbanum, and pure frankincense with these sweet spices; there shall be equal amounts of each.

Exod.30.34

These were the LORD's instructions to Moses concerning the incense: "Gather sweet spices--resin droplets, mollusk scent, galbanum, and pure frankincense--weighing out the same amounts of each.

Exod.30.35

And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy:

to make an aromatic incense, the art of a perfumer, salted and pure--holy.

Exod.30.35

and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred.

You shall make of these an incense, a compound according to the art of the perfumer, salted, pure, and holy.

Exod.30.35

Using the usual techniques of the incense maker, refine it to produce a pure and holy incense.

Exod.30.36

And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy.

Exod.30.36

Now crush some of it into powder and place some of it before The Testimony in the Tent of Meeting where I will meet with you; it will be for you the holiest of holy places.

Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.

Exod.30.36

And you shall beat some of it very fine, and put some of it before the Testimony in the tabernacle of meeting where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.

Exod.30.36

Beat some of it very fine and put some of it in front of the Ark of the Covenant, where I will meet with you in the Tabernacle. This incense is most holy.

Exod.30.37

And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the LORD.

When you make this incense, you are not to copy the mixture for your own use. It's holy to GOD; keep it that way.

Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy to the LORD.

But as for the incense which you shall make, you shall not make any for yourselves, according to its composition. It shall be to you holy for the LORD.

Never make this incense for yourselves. It is reserved for the LORD, and you must treat it as holy.

Exod.30.38

Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.

Exod.30.38

Whoever copies it for personal use will be excommunicated."

Whoever makes any like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from his people."

Whoever makes any like it, to smell it, he shall be cut off from his people."

Those who make it for their own enjoyment will be cut off from the community."
