Ps.89.1

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

Ps.89.1

Your love, GOD, is my song, and I'll sing it! I'm forever telling everyone how faithful you are.

Ps.89.1

I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.

I will sing of the tender mercies of the LORD forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness.

Ps.89.2

For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

Ps.89.2

I'll never quit telling the story of your love--how you built the cosmos and guaranteed everything in it. Your love has always been our lives' foundation, your fidelity has been the roof over our world.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

For I have said, "Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens."

Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.

I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant,

You once said, "I joined forces with my chosen leader, I pledged my word to my servant, David, saying,

You said, "I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David my servant,

Ps.89.3

"I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David:

The LORD said, "I have made a solemn agreement with David, my chosen servant. I have sworn this oath to him:

Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. Selah.

Ps.89.4

"Everyone descending from you is guaranteed life; I'll make your rule as solid and lasting as rock.'"

'I will establish your line forever and make your throne firm through all generations.'" Selah

`I will establish your descendants as kings forever; they will sit on your throne from now until eternity.'"

And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD: thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.

GOD! Let the cosmos praise your wonderful ways, the choir of holy angels sing anthems to your faithful ways!

All heaven will praise your miracles, LORD; myriads of angels will praise you for your faithfulness.

For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD?

Search high and low, scan skies and land, you'll find nothing and no one quite like GOD.

For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD? Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?

For who in the heavens can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD?

For who in all of heaven can compare with the LORD? What mightiest angel is anything like the LORD?

Ps.89.7

God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him.

The holy angels are in awe before him; he looms immense and august over everyone around him.

In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him.

The highest angelic powers stand in awe of God. He is far more awesome than those who surround his throne.

O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

GOD of the Angel Armies, who is like you, powerful and faithful from every angle?

O LORD God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O LORD, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

O LORD God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O LORD? Your faithfulness also surrounds You.

O LORD God Almighty! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, LORD? Faithfulness is your very character.

Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them.

You put the arrogant ocean in its place and calm its waves when they turn unruly.

You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.

You are the one who rules the oceans. When their waves rise in fearful storms, you subdue them.

Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.

You gave that old hag Egypt the back of your hand, you brushed off your enemies with a flick of your wrist.

You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

You are the one who crushed the great sea monster. You scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.

The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

You own the cosmos--you made everything in it, everything from atom to archangel.

With your well-muscled arm and your grip of steel--nobody trifles with you!

Your arm is endued with power; your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.

Powerful is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

The Right and Justice are the roots of your rule; Love and Truth are its fruits.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you.

Your throne is founded on two strong pillars--righteousness and justice. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants.

Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Blessed are the people who know the passwords of praise, who shout on parade in the bright presence of GOD.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD.

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance.

Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, LORD.

In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

Delighted, they dance all day long; they know who you are, what you do--they can't keep it quiet!

They rejoice in your name all day long; they exult in your righteousness.

For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.

Yes, our protection comes from the LORD, and he, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

A long time ago you spoke in a vision, you spoke to your faithful beloved: "I've crowned a hero, I chose the best I could find;

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said: "I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have exalted a young man from among the people.

Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said: "I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

You once spoke in a vision to your prophet and said, "I have given help to a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.

Ps.89.20

I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:

I found David, my servant, poured holy oil on his head,

Ps.89.20

I have found David my servant; with my sacred oil I have anointed him.

I have found My servant David; With My holy oil I have anointed him,

Ps.89.20

I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil.

Ps.89.21

With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him.

And I'll keep my hand steadily on him, yes, I'll stick with him through thick and thin.

My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him.

I will steady him, and I will make him strong.

The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.

And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.

I'll weed out all who oppose him, I'll clean out all who hate him.

But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.

I've put Ocean in his one hand, River in the other;

I will extend his rule from the Mediterranean Sea in the west to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the east.

He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.

he'll call out, "Oh, my Father--my God, my Rock of Salvation!'

He will call out to me, 'You are my Father, my God, the Rock my Savior.'

Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

Yes, I'm setting him apart as the First of the royal line, High King over all of earth's kings.

I will also appoint him my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the earth.

Also I will make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.

I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth.

My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.

I'll preserve him eternally in my love, I'll faithfully do all I so solemnly promised.

If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;

If they spit on the directions I give them and tear up the rules I post for them

if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,

If they break My statutes And do not keep My commandments,

if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,

Ps.89.32

Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

-I'll rub their faces in the dirt of their rebellion and make them face the music.

I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;

Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

I've given my word, my whole and holy word; do you think I would lie to David?

Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness- and I will not lie to David-

I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie:

His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;

But GOD, you did walk off and leave us, you lost your temper with the one you anointed.

But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.

But You have cast off and abhorred, You have been furious with Your anointed.

But now you have rejected him. Why are you so angry with the one you chose as king?

Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown by casting it to the ground.

You tore up the promise you made to your servant, you stomped his crown in the mud.

You have renounced the covenant with your servant and have defiled his crown in the dust.

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.

You blasted his home to kingdom come, reduced his city to a pile of rubble

All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.

Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.

Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.

You robbed him of his splendor, humiliated this warrior, ground his kingly honor in the dirt.

You have put an end to his splendor and cast his throne to the ground.

The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.

Remember how short my time is: wherefore hast thou made all men in vain?

Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth?

So where is the love you're so famous for, Lord? What happened to your promise to David?

O Lord, where is your former great love, which in your faithfulness you swore to David?

Lord, where is your unfailing love? You promised it to David with a faithful pledge.

Remember, Lord, the reproach of thy servants; how I do bear in my bosom the reproach of all the mighty people;

Take a good look at your servant, dear Lord; I'm the butt of the jokes of all nations,

Ps.89.50

Remember, Lord, how your servant has been mocked, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the nations,

Remember, Lord, the reproach of Your servants-- How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,

Consider, Lord, how your servants are disgraced! I carry in my heart the insults of so many people.

Wherewith thine enemies have reproached, O LORD; wherewith they have reproached the footsteps of thine anointed.

The taunting jokes of your enemies, GOD, as they dog the steps of your dear anointed.
