Gen.6.1

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Then GOD said, "I'm not going to breathe life into men and women endlessly. Eventually they're going to die; from now on they can expect a life span of 120 years."

Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years."

Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. In the future, they will live no more than 120 years."

Gen.6.4

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Gen.6.4

This was back in the days (and also later) when there were giants in the land. The giants came from the union of the sons of God and the daughters of men. These were the mighty men of ancient lore, the famous ones.

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Gen.6.4

In those days, and even afterward, giants lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with human women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes mentioned in legends of old.

Gen.6.5

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen.6.5

GOD saw that human evil was out of control. People thought evil, imagined evil--evil, evil, evil from morning to night.

The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Gen.6.5

Now the LORD observed the extent of the people's wickedness, and he saw that all their thoughts were consistently and totally evil.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

GOD was sorry that he had made the human race in the first place; it broke his heart.

Gen.6.6

The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

So the LORD was sorry he had ever made them. It broke his heart.

Gen.6.7

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

Gen.6.7

GOD said, "I'll get rid of my ruined creation, make a clean sweep: people, animals, snakes and bugs, birds--the works. I'm sorry I made them."

So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth-men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air-for I am grieved that I have made them."

Gen.6.7

So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."

Gen.6.7

And the LORD said, "I will completely wipe out this human race that I have created. Yes, and I will destroy all the animals and birds, too. I am sorry I ever made them."

Gen.6.8

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

But Noah was different. GOD liked what he saw in Noah.

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

But Noah found favor with the LORD.

Gen.6.9

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

This is the story of Noah: Noah was a good man, a man of integrity in his community. Noah walked with God.

This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.

This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

This is the history of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless man living on earth at the time. He consistently followed God's will and enjoyed a close relationship with him.

And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

God said to Noah, "It's all over. It's the end of the human race. The violence is everywhere; I'm making a clean sweep.

So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.

And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

So God said to Noah, "I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. Yes, I will wipe them all from the face of the earth!

Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

"Build yourself a ship from teakwood. Make rooms in it. Coat it with pitch inside and out.

So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

"Make a boat from resinous wood and seal it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior.

And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

Build a roof for it and put in a window eighteen inches from the top; put in a door on the side of the ship; and make three decks, lower, middle, and upper.

Construct an opening all the way around the boat, 18 inches below the roof. Then put three decks inside the boat--bottom, middle, and upper--and put a door in the side.

And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

"I'm going to bring a flood on the Earth that will destroy everything alive under Heaven. Total destruction.

I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.

But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

"But I'm going to establish a covenant with you: You'll board the ship, and your sons, your wife and your sons' wives will come on board with you.

Pairs of each kind of bird and each kind of animal, large and small alike, will come to you to be kept alive.

And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

Also get all the food you'll need and store it up for you and them."

You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them."

And you shall take for yourself of all food that is eaten, and you shall gather it to yourself; and it shall be food for you and for them."

And remember, take enough food for your family and for all the animals."

Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
