Rom.15.14

Personally, I've been completely satisfied with who you are and what you are doing. You seem to me to be well-motivated and well-instructed, quite capable of guiding and advising one another.

I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.

Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

I am fully convinced, dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well that you are able to teach others all about them.

So, my dear friends, don't take my rather bold and blunt language as criticism. It's not criticism. I'm simply underlining how very much I need your help in carrying out this highly focused assignment God gave me,

I have written you quite boldly on some points, as if to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me

Even so, I have been bold enough to emphasize some of these points, knowing that all you need is this reminder from me. For I am, by God's grace,

this priestly and gospel work of serving the spiritual needs of the non-Jewish outsiders so they can be presented as an acceptable offering to God, made whole and holy by God's Holy Spirit.

a special messenger from Christ Jesus to you Gentiles. I bring you the Good News and offer you up as a fragrant sacrifice to God so that you might be pure and pleasing to him by the Holy Spirit.

Looking back over what has been accomplished and what I have observed, I must say I am most pleased--in the context of Jesus, I'd even say proud, but only in that context.

So it is right for me to be enthusiastic about all Christ Jesus has done through me in my service to God.

I have no interest in giving you a chatty account of my adventures, only the wondrously powerful and transformingly present words and deeds of Christ in me that triggered a believing response among the outsiders.

I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done--

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient--

I dare not boast of anything else. I have brought the Gentiles to God by my message and by the way I lived before them.

In such ways I have trailblazed a preaching of the Message of Jesus all the way from Jerusalem far into northwestern Greece.

by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

I have won them over by the miracles done through me as signs from God--all by the power of God's Spirit. In this way, I have fully presented the Good News of Christ all the way from Jerusalem clear over into Illyricum.

This has all been pioneer work, bringing the Message only into those places where Jesus was not yet known and worshiped.

It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation.

And so I have made it my aim to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build on another man's foundation,

My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else.

My text has been, Those who were never told of him--they'll see him! Those who've never heard of him--they'll get the message! [JC]

Rather, as it is written: "Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand."

but as it is written: "To whom He was not announced, they shall see; And those who have not heard shall understand."

I have been following the plan spoken of in the Scriptures, where it says, "Those who have never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard of him will understand."

And that's why it has taken me so long to finally get around to coming to you.

This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.

For this reason I also have been much hindered from coming to you.

In fact, my visit to you has been delayed so long because I have been preaching in these places.

But now that there is no more pioneering work to be done in these parts, and since I have looked forward to seeing you for many years,

But now I have finished my work in these regions, and after all these long years of waiting, I am eager to visit you.

I'm planning my visit. I'm headed for Spain, and expect to stop off on the way to enjoy a good visit with you, and eventually have you send me off with God's blessing.

I plan to do so when I go to Spain. I hope to visit you while passing through and to have you assist me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while.

whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you, if first I may enjoy your company for a while.

I am planning to go to Spain, and when I do, I will stop off in Rome. And after I have enjoyed your fellowship for a little while, you can send me on my way again.

First, though, I'm going to Jerusalem to deliver a relief offering to the Christians there.

Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem in the service of the saints there.

But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints.

But before I come, I must go down to Jerusalem to take a gift to the Christians there.

The Greeks--all the way from the Macedonians in the north to the Achaians in the south--decided they wanted to take up a collection for the poor among the believers in Jerusalem.

For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

For it pleased those from Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints who are in Jerusalem.

For you see, the believers in Greece have eagerly taken up an offering for the Christians in Jerusalem, who are going through such hard times.

They were happy to do this, but it was also their duty. Seeing that they got in on all the spiritual gifts that flowed out of the Jerusalem community so generously, it is only right that they do what they can to relieve their poverty.

They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews' spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.

It pleased them indeed, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in material things.

They were very glad to do this because they feel they owe a real debt to them. Since the Gentiles received the wonderful spiritual blessings of the Good News from the Jewish Christians, they feel the least they can do in return is help them financially.

As soon as I have done this--personally handed over this "fruit basket"--I'm off to Spain, with a stopover with you in Rome.

So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this fruit, I will go to Spain and visit you on the way.

Therefore, when I have performed this and have sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain.

As soon as I have delivered this money and completed this good deed of theirs, I will come to see you on my way to Spain.

My hope is that my visit with you is going to be one of Christ's more extravagant blessings.

I know that when I come to you, I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.

But I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

And I am sure that when I come, Christ will give me a great blessing for you.

I have one request, dear friends: Pray for me. Pray strenuously with and for me--to God the Father, through the power of our Master Jesus, through the love of the Spirit--

I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.

Now I beg you, brethren, through the Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in prayers to God for me,

Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Do this because of your love for me, given to you by the Holy Spirit.

that I will be delivered from the lions' den of unbelievers in Judea. Pray also that my relief offering to the Jerusalem Christians will be accepted in the spirit in which it is given.

Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there,

that I may be delivered from those in Judea who do not believe, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints,

Pray that I will be rescued from those in Judea who refuse to obey God. Pray also that the Christians there will be willing to accept the donation I am bringing them.

Then, God willing, I'll be on my way to you with a light and eager heart, looking forward to being refreshed by your company.

so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed.

that I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may be refreshed together with you.

Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a happy heart, and we will be an encouragement to each other.
