And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

They were celebrating Hanukkah just then in Jerusalem. It was winter.

Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter,

Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.

John.10.22

It was now winter, and Jesus was in Jerusalem at the time of Hanukkah.

John.10.23

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

John.10.23

Jesus was strolling in the Temple across Solomon's Porch.

John.10.23

and Jesus was in the temple area walking in Solomon's Colonnade.

John.10.23

And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.

John.10.23

He was at the Temple, walking through the section known as Solomon's Colonnade.

John.10.24

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

John.10.24

The Jews, circling him, said, "How long are you going to keep us guessing? If you're the Messiah, tell us straight out."

John.10.24

The Jews gathered around him, saying, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."

John.10.24

Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."

John.10.24

The Jewish leaders surrounded him and asked, "How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly."

John.10.25

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

John.10.25

Jesus answered, "I told you, but you don't believe. Everything I have done has been authorized by my Father, actions that speak louder than words.

John.10.25

Jesus answered, "I did tell you, but you do not believe. The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me,

John.10.25

Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.

John.10.25

Jesus replied, "I have already told you, and you don't believe me. The proof is what I do in the name of my Father.

John.10.26

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

John.10.26

You don't believe because you're not my sheep.

John.10.26

but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.

John.10.26

But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

John.10.26

But you don't believe me because you are not part of my flock.

John.10.27

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John.10.27

My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me.

John.10.27

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John.10.27

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of my hand.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me,

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

The Father who put them under my care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from him.

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.

My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand.

for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me.

I and my Father are one.

I and the Father are one heart and mind."

The Father and I are one."

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

John.10.31

Again the Jews picked up rocks to throw at him.

John.10.31

Again the Jews picked up stones to stone him,

John.10.31

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.

John.10.31

Once again the Jewish leaders picked up stones to kill him.

John.10.32

Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

John.10.32

Jesus said, "I have made a present to you from the Father of a great many good actions. For which of these acts do you stone me?"

John.10.32

but Jesus said to them, "I have shown you many great miracles from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?"

John.10.32

Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?"

John.10.32

Jesus said, "At my Father's direction I have done many things to help the people. For which one of these good deeds are you killing me?"

John.10.33

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

John.10.33

The Jews said, "We're not stoning you for anything good you did, but for what you said--this blasphemy of calling yourself God."

John.10.33

"We are not stoning you for any of these," replied the Jews, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."

John.10.33

The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."

John.10.33

They replied, "Not for any good work, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, have made yourself God."

John.10.34

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

John.10.34

Jesus said, "I'm only quoting your inspired Scriptures, where God said, "I tell you--you are gods.'

John.10.34

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are gods'?

John.10.34

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, "I said, "You are gods"'?

John.10.34

Jesus replied, "It is written in your own law that God said to certain leaders of the people, 'I say, you are gods!'

John.10.35

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

John.10.35

If God called your ancestors "gods'--and Scripture doesn't lie--

John.10.35

If he called them 'gods,' to whom the word of God came--and the Scripture cannot be broken--

John.10.35

If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),

John.10.35

And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people, who received God's message, were called 'gods,'

John.10.36

Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

John.10.36

why do you yell, "Blasphemer! Blasphemer!' at the unique One the Father consecrated and sent into the world, just because I said, "I am the Son of God'?

John.10.36

what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, 'I am God's Son'?

John.10.36

do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, "You are blaspheming,' because I said, "I am the Son of God'?

John.10.36

why do you call it blasphemy when the Holy One who was sent into the world by the Father says, 'I am the Son of God'?

John.10.37

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

John.10.37

If I don't do the things my Father does, well and good; don't believe me.

John.10.37

Do not believe me unless I do what my Father does.

John.10.37

If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;

John.10.37

Don't believe me unless I carry out my Father's work.

John.10.38

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

John.10.38

But if I am doing them, put aside for a moment what you hear me say about myself and just take the evidence of the actions that are right before your eyes. Then perhaps things will come together for you, and you'll see that not only are we doing the same thing, we are the same--Father and Son. He is in me; I am in him."

But if I do it, even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."

but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him."

But if I do his work, believe in what I have done, even if you don't believe me. Then you will realize that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father."

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

They tried yet again to arrest him, but he slipped through their fingers.

John.10.39

Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp.

John.10.39

Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.

John.10.39

Once again they tried to arrest him, but he got away and left them.

John.10.40

And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

John.10.40

He went back across the Jordan to the place where John first baptized, and stayed there.

John.10.40

Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. Here he stayed

And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed.

John.10.40

He went beyond the Jordan River to stay near the place where John was first baptizing.

John.10.41

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

John.10.41

A lot of people followed him over. They were saying, "John did no miracles, but everything he said about this man has come true."

John.10.41

and many people came to him. They said, "Though John never performed a miraculous sign, all that John said about this man was true."

John.10.41

Then many came to Him and said, "John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true."

John.10.41

And many followed him. "John didn't do miracles," they remarked to one another, "but all his predictions about this man have come true."

John.10.42

And many believed on him there.

John.10.42

Many believed in him then and there.

John.10.42

And in that place many believed in Jesus.

John.10.42
