And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

We do have a parallel experience in gardening. You plant a "dead" seed; soon there is a flourishing plant. There is no visual likeness between seed and plant.

When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.

And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain--perhaps wheat or some other grain.

And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a dry little seed of wheat or whatever it is you are planting.
