According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in Iove. (Ephesians 1:4).
Text: EPHESlANS1:1-14
Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. Though the world has had great heroes as history-books have showed; but never a name to go down to fame compared with that of Jesus Christ. What a mystery revealed in our text today! It is hard to understand how God could accept us; but because of Christ, we are made holy and blameless through His redemptive work on the cross.
We are not saved because we deserve it, but because God is gracious. By reason of sin, we were captives to Satan and could not be released from captivity until Christ gave His life for the remission of our sins. This redemption we have in Christ is through His blood. And all our spiritual blessings flow down to us from that stream.
God is sovereign; He is in charge. When your life seems chaotic, rest on this truth. His purpose to save you cannot be thwarted if you yield your life to Him. His purpose to make you great cannot be overthrown by anyone. Only faith in Him will guarantee your success and divine upliftment. Without His grace, none can be great. Grace is God's voluntary and loving favour given to those He saves.
Remember, your greatness begins when you heed the call to salvation and maintain a consistent walk with God in holiness and righteousness.
Great hope in Christ makes great men
