THE FINAL FLIGHT

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)

Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Today's Devotion By Pastor W. F. Kumuyi

"This is the final boarding call for all passengers on Flight 372A. Please proceed to Gate 3 immediately. The Final checks are being completed and the captain will order the doors of the aircraft to close in approximately five minutes’ time. I repeat, this is the final boarding call for passengers on Flight 372A."

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome onboard Flight 372A. We are currently third in line for take-off and are expected to be in the air in approximately seven minutes’ time. We ask that you please fasten your seat belts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seats or in the overhead compartments. Please turn off all personal electronic devices including laptops and cell phones. Thank you for choosing our Airline. Enjoy your Flight."

These were the words from the pilot of an aircraft to prepare the passengers to have a successful flight. The period we are in now is known as the church age. This age will end with the rapture of the saints. The word rapture is from the Latin word which means “caught up”. All friends of Jesus will be raptured.

The Rapture is the final flight of the children of God. Just as it is in the physical there must be adequate preparation for the final return of our Lord and Saviour. In order to prepare for the rapture, you must be born-again, live a holy life, read your Bible every day and be prayerful. The final flight will soon take off, how ready are you?

Prayer

Almighty God, grant me the grace never to miss the final flight at the rapture.
