Ps.64.1

Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Ps.64.1

Listen and help, O God. I'm reduced to a whine And a whimper, obsessed with feelings of doomsday.

Ps.64.1

Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint; protect my life from the threat of the enemy.

Ps.64.1

Hear my voice, O God, in my meditation; Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Ps.64.1

O God, listen to my complaint. Do not let my enemies' threats overwhelm me.

Ps.64.2

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

Ps.64.2

Don't let them find me--the conspirators out to get me,

Ps.64.2

Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked, from that noisy crowd of evildoers.

Ps.64.2

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, From the rebellion of the workers of iniquity,

Ps.64.2

Protect me from the plots of the wicked, from the scheming of those who do evil.

Ps.64.3

Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

Ps.64.3

Using their tongues as weapons, flinging poison words, poison-tipped arrow-words.

Ps.64.3

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows.

Ps.64.3

Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, And bend their bows to shoot their arrows--bitter words,

Ps.64.3

Sharp tongues are the swords they wield; bitter words are the arrows they aim.

Ps.64.4

That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

They shoot from ambush, shoot without warning, not caring who they hit.

Ps.64.4

They shoot from ambush at the innocent man; they shoot at him suddenly, without fear.

Ps.64.4

That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; Suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear.

Ps.64.4

They shoot from ambush at the innocent, attacking suddenly and fearlessly.

Ps.64.5

They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

They keep fit doing calisthenics of evil purpose, They keep lists of the traps they've secretly set. They say to each other, "No one can catch us,

Ps.64.5

They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say, "Who will see them?"

Ps.64.5

They encourage themselves in an evil matter; They talk of laying snares secretly; They say, "Who will see them?"

Ps.64.5

They encourage each other to do evil and plan how to set their traps. "Who will ever notice?" they ask.

Ps.64.6

They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

Ps.64.6

no one can detect our perfect crime." The Detective detects the mystery in the dark of the cellar heart.

Ps.64.6

They plot injustice and say, "We have devised a perfect plan!" Surely the mind and heart of man are cunning.

Ps.64.6

They devise iniquities: "We have perfected a shrewd scheme." Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.

Ps.64.6

As they plot their crimes, they say, "We have devised the perfect plan!" Yes, the human heart and mind are cunning.

Ps.64.7

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

Ps.64.7

The God of the Arrow shoots! They double up in pain,

Ps.64.7

But God will shoot them with arrows; suddenly they will be struck down.

Ps.64.7

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; Suddenly they shall be wounded.

Ps.64.7

But God himself will shoot them down. Suddenly, his arrows will pierce them.

Ps.64.8

So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

Ps.64.8

Fall flat on their faces in full view of the grinning crowd.

Ps.64.8

He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.

Ps.64.8

So He will make them stumble over their own tongue; All who see them shall flee away.

Ps.64.8

Their own words will be turned against them, destroying them. All who see it happening will shake their heads in scorn.

Ps.64.9

And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

Ps.64.9

Everyone sees it. God's work is the talk of the town.

Ps.64.9

All mankind will fear; they will proclaim the works of God and ponder what he has done.

Ps.64.9

All men shall fear, And shall declare the work of God; For they shall wisely consider His doing.

Ps.64.9

Then everyone will stand in awe, proclaiming the mighty acts of God, realizing all the amazing things he does.

Ps.64.10

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

Ps.64.10

Be glad, good people! Fly to GOD! Good-hearted people, make praise your habit.

Ps.64.10

Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in him; let all the upright in heart praise him!

Ps.64.10

The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and trust in Him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.

Ps.64.10

The godly will rejoice in the LORD and find shelter in him. And those who do what is right will praise him.
