Take my side, God--I'm getting kicked around, stomped on every day.

Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack.

Be merciful to me, O God, for man would swallow me up; Fighting all day he oppresses me.

O God, have mercy on me. The enemy troops press in on me. My foes attack me all day long.

Not a day goes by but somebody beats me up; They make it their duty to beat me up.

My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride.

My enemies would hound me all day, For there are many who fight against me, O Most High.

My slanderers hound me constantly, and many are boldly attacking me.

When I get really afraid I come to you in trust.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.

But when I am afraid, I put my trust in you.

I'm proud to praise God; fearless now, I trust in God. What can mere mortals do?

In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

O God, I praise your word. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?

They don't let up--they smear my reputation and huddle to plot my collapse.

All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me.

All day they twist my words; All their thoughts are against me for evil.

They are always twisting what I say; they spend their days plotting ways to harm me.

They gang up, sneak together through the alleys To take me by surprise, wait their chance to get me.

They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, eager to take my life.

They gather together, They hide, they mark my steps, When they lie in wait for my life.

They come together to spy on me--watching my every step, eager to kill me.

Ps.56.7

Pay them back in evil! Get angry, God! Down with these people!

Ps.56.7

On no account let them escape; in your anger, O God, bring down the nations.

Ps.56.7

Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, O God!

Don't let them get away with their wickedness; in your anger, O God, throw them to the ground.

You've kept track of my every toss and turn through the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in your book.

Record my lament; list my tears on your scroll - are they not in your record?

You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

If my enemies run away, turn tail when I yell at them, Then I'll know that God is on my side.

Then my enemies will turn back when I call for help. By this I will know that God is for me.

When I cry out to You, Then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me.

On the very day I call to you for help, my enemies will retreat. This I know: God is on my side.

I'm proud to praise God, proud to praise GOD.

Vows made to You are binding upon me, O God; I will render praises to You,

I will fulfill my vows to you, O God, and offer a sacrifice of thanks for your help.

You pulled me from the brink of death, my feet from the cliff-edge of doom. Now I stroll at leisure with God in the sunlit fields of life.

For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.

For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, That I may walk before God In the light of the living?

For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping. So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life-giving light.
