Ps.31.9

Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, yea, my soul and my belly.

Ps.31.9

Be kind to me, GOD- I'm in deep, deep trouble again. I've cried my eyes out; I feel hollow inside.

Be merciful to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and my body with grief.

Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, Yes, my soul and my body!

Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am in distress. My sight is blurred because of my tears. My body and soul are withering away.

For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

My life leaks away, groan by groan; my years fade out in sighs. My troubles have worn me out, turned my bones to powder.

I am dying from grief; my years are shortened by sadness. Misery has drained my strength; I am wasting away from within.

I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

To my enemies I'm a monster; I'm ridiculed by the neighbors. My friends are horrified; they cross the street to avoid me.

Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors; I am a dread to my friends- those who see me on the street flee from me.

I am a reproach among all my enemies, But especially among my neighbors, And am repulsive to my acquaintances; Those who see me outside flee from me.

I am scorned by all my enemies and despised by my neighbors--even my friends are afraid to come near me. When they see me on the street, they turn the other way.

I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel.

They want to blot me from memory, forget me like a corpse in a grave, discard me like a broken dish in the trash.

I am forgotten by them as though I were dead; I have become like broken pottery.

I have been ignored as if I were dead, as if I were a broken pot.

For I have heard the slander of many: fear was on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

The street-talk gossip has me "criminally insane"! Behind locked doors they plot how to ruin me for good.

For I hear the slander of many; there is terror on every side; they conspire against me and plot to take my life.

For I hear the slander of many; Fear is on every side; While they take counsel together against me, They scheme to take away my life.

I have heard the many rumors about me, and I am surrounded by terror. My enemies conspire against me, plotting to take my life.

Ps.31.14

But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.

Desperate, I throw myself on you: you are my God!

But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."

Ps.31.14

But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, "You are my God."

Ps.31.14

But I am trusting you, O LORD, saying, "You are my God!"

Ps.31.15

My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

Hour by hour I place my days in your hand, safe from the hands out to get me.

My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those who pursue me.

My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me.

My future is in your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly.

Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

Warm me, your servant, with a smile; save me because you love me.

Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.

Make Your face shine upon Your servant; Save me for Your mercies' sake.

Let your favor shine on your servant. In your unfailing love, save me.

Ps.31.17

Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

Ps.31.17

Don't embarrass me by not showing up; I've given you plenty of notice. Embarrass the wicked, stand them up, leave them stupidly shaking their heads as they drift down to hell.

Let me not be put to shame, O LORD, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and lie silent in the grave.

Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You; Let the wicked be ashamed; Let them be silent in the grave.

Don't let me be disgraced, O LORD, for I call out to you for help. Let the wicked be disgraced; let them lie silent in the grave.

Ps.31.18

Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Ps.31.18

Gag those loudmouthed liars who heckle me, your follower, with jeers and catcalls.

Ps.31.18

Let their lying lips be silenced, for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.

Ps.31.18

Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Ps.31.18

May their lying lips be silenced--those proud and arrogant lips that accuse the godly.
