Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Do you hear Lady Wisdom calling? Can you hear Madame Insight raising her voice?

Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?

Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice?

Listen as wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!

She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

She's taken her stand at First and Main, at the busiest intersection.

On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand;

She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet.

She stands on the hilltop and at the crossroads.

She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

Right in the city square where the traffic is thickest, she shouts,

beside the gates leading into the city, at the entrances, she cries aloud:

She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors:

At the entrance to the city, at the city gates, she cries aloud,

Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

"You--I'm talking to all of you, everyone out here on the streets!

"To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind.

"To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men.

"I call to you, to all of you! I am raising my voice to all people.

Prov.8.5

O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

Listen, you idiots--learn good sense! You blockheads--shape up!

Prov.8.5

You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, gain understanding.

Prov.8.5

O you simple ones, understand prudence, And you fools, be of an understanding heart.

Prov.8.5

How naive you are! Let me give you common sense. O foolish ones, let me give you understanding.

Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

Don't miss a word of this--I'm telling you how to live well, I'm telling you how to live at your best.

Listen, for I have worthy things to say; I open my lips to speak what is right.

Listen to me! For I have excellent things to tell you. Everything I say is right,

For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

My mouth chews and savors and relishes truth--I can't stand the taste of evil!

My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness.

For my mouth will speak truth; Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

for I speak the truth and hate every kind of deception.

All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

You'll only hear true and right words from my mouth; not one syllable will be twisted or skewed.

All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.

All the words of my mouth are with righteousness; Nothing crooked or perverse is in them.

My advice is wholesome and good. There is nothing crooked or twisted in it.

They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

You'll recognize this as true--you with open minds; truth--ready minds will see it at once.

To the discerning all of them are right; they are faultless to those who have knowledge.

My words are plain to anyone with understanding, clear to those who want to learn.

Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
