The day The Dwelling was set up, the Cloud covered The Dwelling of the Tent of Testimony. From sunset until daybreak it was over The Dwelling. It looked like fire.

On the day the tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.

The People of Israel marched at GOD's command and they camped at his command. As long as the Cloud was over The Dwelling, they camped.

At the LORD's command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp.

At the command of the LORD the children of Israel would journey, and at the command of the LORD they would camp; as long as the cloud stayed above the tabernacle they remained encamped.

In this way, they traveled at the LORD's command and stopped wherever he told them to. Then they remained where they were as long as the cloud stayed over the Tabernacle.

Even when the Cloud hovered over The Dwelling for many days, they honored GOD's command and wouldn't march.

When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites obeyed the LORD's order and did not set out.

Even when the cloud continued long, many days above the tabernacle, the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD and did not journey.

They stayed in camp, obedient to GOD's command, as long as the Cloud was over The Dwelling, but the moment GOD issued orders they marched.

Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days; at the LORD's command they would encamp, and then at his command they would set out.

So it was, when the cloud was above the tabernacle a few days: according to the command of the LORD they would remain encamped, and according to the command of the LORD they would journey.

If the Cloud stayed only from sunset to daybreak and then lifted at daybreak, they marched. Night or day, it made no difference--when the Cloud lifted, they marched.

Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning, and when it lifted in the morning, they set out. Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out.

So it was, when the cloud remained only from evening until morning: when the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they would journey; whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud was taken up, they would journey.

Sometimes the cloud stayed only overnight and moved on the next morning. But day or night, when the cloud lifted, the people broke camp and followed.

It made no difference whether the Cloud hovered over The Dwelling for two days or a month or a year, as long as the Cloud was there, they were there. And when the Cloud went up, they got up and marched.

Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out.

Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud remained above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would remain encamped and not journey; but when it was taken up, they would journey.

Whether the cloud stayed above the Tabernacle for two days, a month, or a year, the people of Israel stayed in camp and did not move on. But as soon as it lifted, they broke camp and moved on.

They camped at GOD's command and they marched at GOD's command. They lived obediently by GOD's orders as delivered by Moses.

At the LORD's command they encamped, and at the LORD's command they set out. They obeyed the LORD's order, in accordance with his command through Moses.

So they camped or traveled at the LORD's command, and they did whatever the LORD told them through Moses.

GOD spoke to Moses:

"Make two bugles of hammered silver. Use them to call the congregation together and give marching orders to the camps.

"Make two trumpets of hammered silver, and use them for calling the community together and for having the camps set out.

"Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps.

"Make two trumpets of beaten silver to be used for summoning the people to assemble and for signaling the breaking of camp.

When you blow them, the whole community will meet you at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

When both are sounded, the whole community is to assemble before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

"When a bugle gives a single, short blast, that's the signal for the leaders, the heads of the clans, to assemble.

If only one is sounded, the leaders-the heads of the clans of Israel-are to assemble before you.

But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you.

But if only one is blown, then only the leaders of the tribes of Israel will come to you.

When it gives a long blast, that's the signal to march. At the first blast the tribes who were camped on the east set out.

When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey.

"When you sound the signal to move on, the tribes on the east side of the Tabernacle will break camp and move forward.

At the second blast the camps on the south set out. The long blasts are the signals to march.

When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys.

The bugle call that gathers the assembly is different from the signal to march.

To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the same signal.

"The sons of Aaron, the priests, are in charge of blowing the bugles; it's their assigned duty down through the generations.

"The sons of Aaron, the priests, are to blow the trumpets. This is to be a lasting ordinance for you and the generations to come.

The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations.

Only the priests, Aaron's descendants, are allowed to blow the trumpets. This is a permanent law to be followed from generation to generation.

When you go to war against an aggressor, blow a long blast on the bugle so that GOD will notice you and deliver you from your enemies.

When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the LORD your God and rescued from your enemies.

"When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

"When you arrive in your own land and go to war against your enemies, you must sound the alarm with these trumpets so the LORD your God will remember you and rescue you from your enemies.

Also at times of celebration, at the appointed feasts and New Moon festivals, blow the bugles over your Whole-Burnt-Offerings and Peace-Offerings: they will keep your attention on God. I am GOD, your God."

Also at your times of rejoicing-your appointed feasts and New Moon festivals-you are to sound the trumpets over your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, and they will be a memorial for you before your God. I am the LORD your God."

Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be a memorial for you before your God: I am the LORD your God."

Blow the trumpets in times of gladness, too, sounding them at your annual festivals and at the beginning of each month to rejoice over your burnt offerings and peace offerings. The trumpets will remind the LORD your God of his covenant with you. I am the LORD your God."

In the second year, on the twentieth day of the second month, the Cloud went up from over The Dwelling of The Testimony.

Nethanel son of Zuar commanded the forces of the tribe of Issachar,

Over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.

and Eliab son of Helon commanded the forces of the tribe of Zebulun.

and Eliab son of Helon was over the division of the tribe of Zebulun.

And over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

As soon as The Dwelling was taken down, the Gershonites and the Merarites set out, carrying The Dwelling.

Eliasaph son of Deuel commanded the forces of the tribe of Gad.

Then the Kohathites left, carrying the holy things. By the time they arrived The Dwelling would be set up.

Gamaliel son of Pedahzur commanded the forces of the tribe of Manasseh;

Finally, under the flag of the tribe of Dan, the rear guard of all the camps marched out with Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai in command.

Last of all, the tribes that camped with Dan set out under their banner. They served as the rear guard for all the tribal camps. The tribe of Dan headed this group, under the leadership of Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

These were the marching units of the People of Israel. They were on their way.

Moses said to his brother-in-law Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We're marching to the place about which GOD promised, "I'll give it to you.' Come with us; we'll treat you well. GOD has promised good things for Israel."

But Hobab said, "I'm not coming; I'm going back home to my own country, to my own family."

He answered, "No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people."

And he said to him, "I will not go, but I will depart to my own land and to my relatives."

But Hobab replied, "No, I will not go. I must return to my own land and family."

Moses countered, "Don't leave us. You know all the best places to camp in the wilderness. We need your eyes.

But Moses said, "Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the desert, and you can be our eyes.

So Moses said, "Please do not leave, inasmuch as you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

"Please don't leave us," Moses pleaded. "You know the places in the wilderness where we should camp.

Num.10.32

If you come with us, we'll make sure that you share in all the good things GOD will do for us."

If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the LORD gives us."

And it shall be, if you go with us--indeed it shall be--that whatever good the LORD will do to us, the same we will do to you."

Come, be our guide and we will share with you all the good things that the LORD does for us."

And so off they marched. From the Mountain of GOD they marched three days with the Chest of the Covenant of GOD in the lead to scout out a campsite.

So they set out from the mountain of the LORD and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest.

So they departed from the mountain of the LORD on a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them for the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.

They marched for three days after leaving the mountain of the LORD, with the Ark of the LORD's covenant moving ahead of them to show them where to stop and rest.

The Cloud of GOD was above them by day when they marched from the camp.

And the cloud of the LORD was above them by day when they went out from the camp.

As they moved on each day, the cloud of the LORD hovered over them.

With the Chest leading the way, Moses would say, Get up, GOD! Put down your enemies! Chase those who hate you to the hills!

Whenever the ark set out, Moses said, "Rise up, O LORD! May your enemies be scattered; may your foes flee before you."

So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said: "Rise up, O LORD! Let Your enemies be scattered, And let those who hate You flee before You."

And whenever the Ark set out, Moses would cry, "Arise, O LORD, and let your enemies be scattered! Let them flee before you!"

And when the Chest was set down, he would say, Rest with us, GOD, Stay with the many, Many thousands of Israel.

Whenever it came to rest, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel."

And when it rested, he said: "Return, O LORD, To the many thousands of Israel."

And when the Ark was set down, he would say, "Return, O LORD, to the countless thousands of Israel!"

The people fell to grumbling over their hard life. GOD heard. When he heard his anger flared; then fire blazed up and burned the outer boundaries of the camp.

Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the LORD, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the LORD burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.

The people soon began to complain to the LORD about their hardships; and when the LORD heard them, his anger blazed against them. Fire from the LORD raged among them and destroyed the outskirts of the camp.

The people cried out for help to Moses; Moses prayed to GOD and the fire died down.

They named the place Taberah (Blaze) because fire from GOD had blazed up against them.
