Matt.26.31

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

Matt.26.31

Then Jesus told them, "Before the night's over, you're going to fall to pieces because of what happens to me. There is a Scripture that says, I'll strike the shepherd; helter-skelter the sheep will be scattered.

Then Jesus told them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: "'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: "I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

"Tonight all of you will desert me," Jesus told them. "For the Scriptures say, 'God will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

Peter broke in, "Even if everyone else falls to pieces on account of you, I won't."

Peter replied, "Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will."

Peter answered and said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble."

Peter declared, "Even if everyone else deserts you, I never will."

Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

"Don't be so sure," Jesus said. "This very night, before the rooster crows up the dawn, you will deny me three times."

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times."

Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times."

"Peter," Jesus replied, "the truth is, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times."

Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Peter protested, "Even if I had to die with you, I would never deny you." All the others said the same thing.

But Peter declared, "Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you." And all the other disciples said the same.

Peter said to Him, "Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!" And so said all the disciples.

"No!" Peter insisted. "Not even if I have to die with you! I will never deny you!" And all the other disciples vowed the same.

Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

Then Jesus went with them to a garden called Gethsemane and told his disciples, "Stay here while I go over there and pray."

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Going a little ahead, he fell on his face, praying, "My Father, if there is any way, get me out of this. But please, not what I want. You, what do you want?"

Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will."

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

When he came back to his disciples, he found them sound asleep. He said to Peter, "Can't you stick it out with me a single hour?

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.

Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Stay alert; be in prayer so you don't wander into temptation without even knowing you're in danger. There is a part of you that is eager, ready for anything in God. But there's another part that's as lazy as an old dog sleeping by the fire."

He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

He then left them a second time. Again he prayed, "My Father, if there is no other way than this, drinking this cup to the dregs, I'm ready. Do it your way."

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

When he came back the next time, he said, "Are you going to sleep on and make a night of it? My time is up, the Son of Man is about to be handed over to the hands of sinners.

Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then He came to His disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Then he came to the disciples and said, "Still sleeping? Still resting? Look, the time has come. I, the Son of Man, am betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
