But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

They agreed that it should not be done during Passover Week. "We don't want a riot on our hands," they said.

But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

When the disciples saw what was happening, they were furious. "That's criminal!

The disciples were indignant when they saw this. "What a waste of money," they said.

For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

When Jesus realized what was going on, he intervened. "Why are you giving this woman a hard time? She has just done something wonderfully significant for me.

Aware of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing to me.

But when Jesus was aware of it, He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a good work for Me.

But Jesus replied, "Why berate her for doing such a good thing to me?

Matt.26.11

For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

Matt.26.11

You will have the poor with you every day for the rest of your lives, but not me.

Matt.26.11

The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have me.

Matt.26.11

For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

Matt.26.11

You will always have the poor among you, but I will not be here with you much longer.

For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

You can be sure that wherever in the whole world the Message is preached, what she has just done is going to be remembered and admired."

"As you go into the city," he told them, "you will see a certain man. Tell him, 'The Teacher says, My time has come, and I will eat the Passover meal with my disciples at your house.'"

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

Greatly distressed, one by one they began to ask him, "I'm not the one, am I, Lord?"

And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

Jesus answered, "The one who hands me over is someone I eat with daily, one who passes me food at the table.

Jesus replied, "The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will betray me.

He answered and said, "He who dipped his hand with Me in the dish will betray Me.

He replied, "One of you who is eating with me now will betray me.

The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

In one sense the Son of Man is entering into a way of treachery well-marked by the Scriptures--no surprises here. In another sense that man who turns him in, turns traitor to the Son of Man--better never to have been born than do this!"

The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born."

Then Judas, already turned traitor, said, "It isn't me, is it, Rabbi?" Jesus said, "Don't play games with me, Judas."

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
