Luke.7.36

One of the Pharisees asked him over for a meal. He went to the Pharisee's house and sat down at the dinner table.

Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee's house and reclined at the table.

Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat.

One of the Pharisees asked Jesus to come to his home for a meal, so Jesus accepted the invitation and sat down to eat.

Just then a woman of the village, the town harlot, having learned that Jesus was a guest in the home of the Pharisee, came with a bottle of very expensive perfume

When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume,

And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,

A certain immoral woman heard he was there and brought a beautiful jar filled with expensive perfume.

and stood at his feet, weeping, raining tears on his feet. Letting down her hair, she dried his feet, kissed them, and anointed them with the perfume.

and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.

Then she knelt behind him at his feet, weeping. Her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them off with her hair. Then she kept kissing his feet and putting perfume on them.

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man was the prophet I thought he was, he would have known what kind of woman this is who is falling all over him."

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, "If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is--that she is a sinner."

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, "This Man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner."

When the Pharisee who was the host saw what was happening and who the woman was, he said to himself, "This proves that Jesus is no prophet. If God had really sent him, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She's a sinner!"

Jesus said to him, "Simon, I have something to tell you.Oh? Tell me."

Luke.7.40

Jesus answered him, "Simon, I have something to tell you.Tell me, teacher," he said.

And Jesus answered and said to him, "Simon, I have something to say to you." So he said, "Teacher, say it."

Then Jesus spoke up and answered his thoughts. "Simon," he said to the Pharisee, "I have something to say to you.All right, Teacher," Simon replied, "go ahead."

"Two men were in debt to a banker. One owed five hundred silver pieces, the other fifty.

"Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

"There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

Then Jesus told him this story: "A man loaned money to two people--five hundred pieces of silver to one and fifty pieces to the other.

Neither of them could pay up, and so the banker canceled both debts. Which of the two would be more grateful?"

Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?"

Luke.7.42

And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?"

Luke.7.42

But neither of them could repay him, so he kindly forgave them both, canceling their debts. Who do you suppose loved him more after that?"

Luke.7.43

Simon answered, "I suppose the one who was forgiven the most.That's right," said Jesus.

Simon replied, "I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.You have judged correctly," Jesus said.

Simon answered and said, "I suppose the one whom he forgave more." And He said to him, "You have rightly judged."

Simon answered, "I suppose the one for whom he canceled the larger debt.That's right," Jesus said.

Luke.7.44

Then turning to the woman, but speaking to Simon, he said, "Do you see this woman? I came to your home; you provided no water for my feet, but she rained tears on my feet and dried them with her hair.

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head.

Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, "Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn't offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

You gave me no greeting, but from the time I arrived she hasn't quit kissing my feet.

You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet.

You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in.

You didn't give me a kiss of greeting, but she has kissed my feet again and again from the time I first came in.

Luke.7.46

You provided nothing for freshening up, but she has soothed my feet with perfume.

You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet.

Luke.7.46

You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil.

Luke.7.46

You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.

Luke.7.47

Impressive, isn't it? She was forgiven many, many sins, and so she is very, very grateful. If the forgiveness is minimal, the gratitude is minimal."

Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven--for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little."

Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little."

I tell you, her sins--and they are many--have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love."

Then he spoke to her: "I forgive your sins."

Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

Then He said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

Then Jesus said to the woman, "Your sins are forgiven."

That set the dinner guests talking behind his back: "Who does he think he is, forgiving sins!"

The other guests began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"

And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"

Luke.7.49

The men at the table said among themselves, "Who does this man think he is, going around forgiving sins?"

Luke.7.50

He ignored them and said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

Luke.7.50

Then He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

And Jesus said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
