And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

Then the LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

Lev.11.2

"Speak to the People of Israel. Tell them: Of all the animals on Earth, these are the animals that you may eat:

"Say to the Israelites: 'Of all the animals that live on land, these are the ones you may eat:

Lev.11.2

"Speak to the children of Israel, saying, "These are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth:

"Give the following instructions to the Israelites: The animals you may use for food

Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

"You may eat any animal that has a split hoof, divided in two, and that chews the cud,

You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.

Among the animals, whatever divides the hoof, having cloven hooves and chewing the cud--that you may eat.

You may not, however, eat the animals named here because they either have split hooves or chew the cud, but not both. The camel may not be eaten, for though it chews the cud, it does not have split hooves.

and the hare, so they also may never be eaten.

And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

But anything that doesn't have fins and scales, whether in seas or streams, whether small creatures in the shallows or huge creatures in the deeps, you are to detest.

But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales-whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water-you are to detest.

But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you.

You may not, however, eat marine animals that do not have both fins and scales. You are to detest them,

They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

Yes, detest them. Don't eat their meat; detest their carcasses.

ravens of all kinds,

And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

ostrich, nighthawk, sea gull, all hawks,

the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,

Lev.11.16

the ostrich, the short-eared owl, the sea gull, and the hawk after its kind;

Lev.11.16

the ostrich, the nighthawk, the seagull, hawks of all kinds,

Lev.11.17

And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

Lev.11.17

owl, cormorant, ibis,

Lev.11.17

the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

Lev.11.17

the little owl, the fisher owl, and the screech owl;

Lev.11.17

the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

Lev.11.18

And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

water hen, pelican, Egyptian vulture,

Lev.11.18

the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,

Lev.11.18

the white owl, the jackdaw, and the carrion vulture;

Lev.11.18

the white owl, the pelican, the carrion vulture,

Lev.11.19

And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

stork, all herons, hoopoe, bat.

the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.

the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

the stork, herons of all kinds, the hoopoe, and the bat.

All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

"All flying insects that walk on all fours are detestable to you.

"All flying insects that creep on all fours shall be an abomination to you.

"You are to consider detestable all swarming insects that walk along the ground.

Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

But you can eat some of these, namely, those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground:

There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground.

Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on all fours: those which have jointed legs above their feet with which to leap on the earth.

However, there are some exceptions that you may eat. These include insects that jump with their hind legs:

Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

all locusts, katydids, crickets, and grasshoppers.

Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper.

locusts of all varieties, crickets, bald locusts, and grasshoppers. All these may be eaten.

But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

"These also shall be unclean to you among the creeping things that creep on the earth: the mole, the mouse, and the large lizard after its kind;

"Of the small animals that scurry or creep on the ground, these are unclean for you: the mole, the mouse, the great lizard of all varieties,

And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.

gecko, monitor lizard, wall lizard, skink, chameleon.

These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.

Among the crawling creatures, these are unclean for you. If you touch them when they are dead, you are ritually unclean until evening.

This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:

The LORD said to Moses, "Give these instructions to the Israelites:

Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.

Lev.12.2

"Tell the People of Israel: A woman who conceives and gives birth to a boy is ritually unclean for seven days, the same as during her menstruation.

Lev.12.2

"Say to the Israelites: 'A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is unclean during her monthly period.

"Speak to the children of Israel, saying: "If a woman has conceived, and borne a male child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of her customary impurity she shall be unclean.

When a woman becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son, she will be ceremonially unclean for seven days, just as she is defiled during her menstrual period.

And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

The mother must stay home another thirty-three days for purification from her bleeding. She may not touch anything consecrated or enter the Sanctuary until the days of her purification are complete.

Then the woman must wait for thirty-three days until the time of her purification from the blood of childbirth is completed. During this time of purification, she must not touch anything that is holy. And she must not go to the sanctuary until her time of purification is over.

But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

If she gives birth to a girl, she is unclean for fourteen days, the same as during her menstruation. She must stay home for sixty-six days for purification from her bleeding.

If she gives birth to a daughter, for two weeks the woman will be unclean, as during her period. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding.

"But if she bears a female child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her customary impurity, and she shall continue in the blood of her purification sixty-six days.

If a woman gives birth to a daughter, she will be ceremonially defiled for two weeks, just as she is defiled during her menstrual period. She must then wait another sixty-six days to be purified from the blood of childbirth.

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest:

"When the days for her purification for either a boy or a girl are complete, she will bring a yearling lamb for a Whole-Burnt-Offering and a pigeon or dove for an Absolution-Offering to the priest at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

"'When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring to the priest at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting a year-old lamb for a burnt offering and a young pigeon or a dove for a sin offering.

"When the days of her purification are fulfilled, whether for a son or a daughter, she shall bring to the priest a lamb of the first year as a burnt offering, and a young pigeon or a turtledove as a sin offering, to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

"When the time of purification is completed for either a son or a daughter, the woman must bring a year-old lamb for a whole burnt offering and a young pigeon or turtledove for a purification offering. She must take her offerings to the priest at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

Lev.12.7

Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.

He will offer it to GOD and make atonement for her. She is then clean from her flow of blood. "These are the instructions for a woman who gives birth to either a boy or a girl.

The priest will then present them to the LORD and make atonement for her. Then she will be ceremonially clean again after her bleeding at childbirth. These are the instructions to be followed after the birth of a son or a daughter.

And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

"If she can't afford a lamb, she can bring two doves or two pigeons, one for the Whole-Burnt-Offering and one for the Absolution-Offering. The priest will make atonement for her and she will be clean."

If she cannot afford a lamb, she is to bring two doves or two young pigeons, one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. In this way the priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"

"If a woman cannot afford to bring a sheep, she must bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons. One will be for the whole burnt offering and the other for the purification offering. The priest will sacrifice them, thus making atonement for her, and she will be ceremonially clean."
