John.6.25-John.6.59

John.6.25-John.6.59

John.6.25

And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

John.6.25

When they found him back across the sea, they said, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"

John.6.25

When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"

John.6.25

And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, "Rabbi, when did You come here?"

John.6.25

When they arrived and found him, they asked, "Teacher, how did you get here?"

John.6.26

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

John.6.26

Jesus answered, "You've come looking for me not because you saw God in my actions but because I fed you, filled your stomachs--and for free.

John.6.26

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.

John.6.26

Jesus answered them and said, "Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

John.6.26

Jesus replied, "The truth is, you want to be with me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign.

John.6.27

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

John.6.27

"Don't waste your energy striving for perishable food like that. Work for the food that sticks with you, food that nourishes your lasting life, food the Son of Man provides. He and what he does are guaranteed by God the Father to last."

John.6.27

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

John.6.27

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him."

John.6.27

But you shouldn't be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for that very purpose."

John.6.28

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

John.6.28

To that they said, "Well, what do we do then to get in on God's works?"

John.6.28

Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"

John.6.28

Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"

John.6.28

They replied, "What does God want us to do?"

John.6.29

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

John.6.29

Jesus said, "Throw your lot in with the One that God has sent. That kind of a commitment gets you in on God's works."

John.6.29

Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

John.6.29

Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

John.6.29

Jesus told them, "This is what God wants you to do: Believe in the one he has sent."

John.6.30

They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

John.6.30

They waffled: "Why don't you give us a clue about who you are, just a hint of what's going on? When we see what's up, we'll commit ourselves. Show us what you can do.

John.6.30

So they asked him, "What miraculous sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do?

John.6.30

Therefore they said to Him, "What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do?

John.6.30

They replied, "You must show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What will you do for us?

John.6.31

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

John.6.31

Moses fed our ancestors with bread in the desert. It says so in the Scriptures: "He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

John.6.31

Our forefathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written: 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

John.6.31

Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, "He gave them bread from heaven to eat."'

John.6.31

After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! As the Scriptures say, 'Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.'"

John.6.32

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

John.6.32

Jesus responded, "The real significance of that Scripture is not that Moses gave you bread from heaven but that my Father is right now offering you bread from heaven, the real bread.

John.6.32

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

John.6.32

Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven.

John.6.32

Jesus said, "I assure you, Moses didn't give them bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven.

John.6.33

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John.6.33

The Bread of God came down out of heaven and is giving life to the world."

John.6.33

For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

John.6.33

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

John.6.33

The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

John.6.34

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

John.6.34

They jumped at that: "Master, give us this bread, now and forever!"

John.6.34

"Sir," they said, "from now on give us this bread."

John.6.34

Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us this bread always."

John.6.34

"Sir," they said, "give us that bread every day of our lives."

John.6.35

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John.6.35

Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life. The person who aligns with me hungers no more and thirsts no more, ever.

John.6.35

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John.6.35

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John.6.35

Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst.

John.6.36

But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

John.6.36

I have told you this explicitly because even though you have seen me in action, you don't really believe me.

John.6.36

But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.

John.6.36

But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe.

John.6.36

But you haven't believed in me even though you have seen me.

John.6.37

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

John.6.37

Every person the Father gives me eventually comes running to me. And once that person is with me, I hold on and don't let go.

John.6.37

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

John.6.37

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

John.6.37

However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.

John.6.38

For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John.6.38

I came down from heaven not to follow my own whim but to accomplish the will of the One who sent me.

John.6.38

For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.

John.6.38

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

John.6.38

For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do what I want.

John.6.39

And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

John.6.39

"This, in a nutshell, is that will: that everything handed over to me by the Father be completed--not a single detail missed--and at the wrap-up of time I have everything and everyone put together, upright and whole.

John.6.39

And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day.

John.6.39

This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

John.6.39

And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them to eternal life at the last day.

John.6.40

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.40

This is what my Father wants: that anyone who sees the Son and trusts who he is and what he does and then aligns with him will enter real life, eternal life. My part is to put them on their feet alive and whole at the completion of time."

John.6.40

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

John.6.40

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

John.6.40

For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life--that I should raise them at the last day."

John.6.41

The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

John.6.41

At this, because he said, "I am the Bread that came down from heaven," the Jews started arguing over him:

John.6.41

At this the Jews began to grumble about him because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven."

John.6.41

The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, "I am the bread which came down from heaven."

John.6.41

Then the people began to murmur in disagreement because he had said, "I am the bread from heaven."

John.6.42

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

John.6.42

"Isn't this the son of Joseph? Don't we know his father? Don't we know his mother? How can he now say, "I came down out of heaven' and expect anyone to believe him?"

John.6.42

They said, "Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How can he now say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

John.6.42

And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, "I have come down from heaven'?"

John.6.42

They said, "This is Jesus, the son of Joseph. We know his father and mother. How can he say, 'I came down from heaven'?"

John.6.43

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.

John.6.43

Jesus said, "Don't bicker among yourselves over me.

John.6.43

"Stop grumbling among yourselves," Jesus answered.

John.6.43

Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur among yourselves.

John.6.43

But Jesus replied, "Don't complain about what I said.

John.6.44

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.44

You're not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge. He draws people to me--that's the only way you'll ever come. Only then do I do my work, putting people together, setting them on their feet, ready for the End.

John.6.44

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.44

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.44

For people can't come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them from the dead.

John.6.45

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

John.6.45

This is what the prophets meant when they wrote, "And then they will all be personally taught by God.' Anyone who has spent any time at all listening to the Father, really listening and therefore learning, comes to me to be taught personally--to see it with his own eyes, hear it with his own ears, from me, since I have it firsthand from the Father.

John.6.45

It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me.

John.6.45

It is written in the prophets, "And they shall all be taught by God.' Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.

John.6.45

As it is written in the Scriptures, 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to me.

John.6.46

Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

John.6.46

No one has seen the Father except the One who has his Being alongside the Father--and you can see me.

John.6.46

No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.

John.6.46

Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

John.6.46

(Not that anyone has ever seen the Father; only I, who was sent from God, have seen him.)

John.6.47

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

John.6.47

"I'm telling you the most solemn and sober truth now: Whoever believes in me has real life, eternal life.

John.6.47

I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

John.6.47

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life.

John.6.47

"I assure you, anyone who believes in me already has eternal life.

John.6.48

I am that bread of life.

John.6.48

I am the Bread of Life.

John.6.48

I am the bread of life.

John.6.48

I am the bread of life.

John.6.48

Yes, I am the bread of life!

John.6.49

Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

John.6.49

Your ancestors ate the manna bread in the desert and died.

John.6.49

Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died.

John.6.49

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.

John.6.49

Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died.

John.6.50

This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

John.6.50

But now here is Bread that truly comes down out of heaven. Anyone eating this Bread will not die, ever.

John.6.50

But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.

John.6.50

This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die.

John.6.50

However, the bread from heaven gives eternal life to everyone who eats it.

John.6.51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

John.6.51

I am the Bread--living Bread!-who came down out of heaven. Anyone who eats this Bread will live--and forever! The Bread that I present to the world so that it can eat and live is myself, this flesh-and-blood self."

John.6.51

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

John.6.51

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world."

John.6.51

I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; this bread is my flesh, offered so the world may live."

John.6.52

The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

John.6.52

At this, the Jews started fighting among themselves: "How can this man serve up his flesh for a meal?"

John.6.52

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"

John.6.52

The Jews therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?"

John.6.52

Then the people began arguing with each other about what he meant. "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" they asked.

John.6.53

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

John.6.53

But Jesus didn't give an inch. "Only insofar as you eat and drink flesh and blood, the flesh and blood of the Son of Man, do you have life within you.

John.6.53

Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

John.6.53

Then Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.

John.6.53

So Jesus said again, "I assure you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you.

John.6.54

Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.54

The one who brings a hearty appetite to this eating and drinking has eternal life and will be fit and ready for the Final Day.

John.6.54

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.54

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John.6.54

But those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life, and I will raise them at the last day.

John.6.55

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

John.6.55

My flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

John.6.55

For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

John.6.55

For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.

John.6.55

For my flesh is the true food, and my blood is the true drink.

John.6.56

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

John.6.56

By eating my flesh and drinking my blood you enter into me and I into you.

John.6.56

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him.

John.6.56

He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

John.6.56

All who eat my flesh and drink my blood remain in me, and I in them.

John.6.57

As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

John.6.57

In the same way that the fully alive Father sent me here and I live because of him, so the one who makes a meal of me lives because of me.

John.6.57

Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.

John.6.57

As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me.

John.6.57

I live by the power of the living Father who sent me; in the same way, those who partake of me will live because of me.

John.6.58

This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

John.6.58

This is the Bread from heaven. Your ancestors ate bread and later died. Whoever eats this Bread will live always."

John.6.58

This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever."

John.6.58

This is the bread which came down from heaven--not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever."

John.6.58

I am the true bread from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever and not die as your ancestors did, even though they ate the manna."

John.6.59

These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

John.6.59

He said these things while teaching in the meeting place in Capernaum.

John.6.59

He said this while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.

John.6.59

These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

John.6.59

He said these things while he was teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
