The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

I knew nothing about who he was--only this: that my task has been to get Israel ready to recognize him as the God-Revealer. That is why I came here baptizing with water, giving you a good bath and scrubbing sins from your life so you can get a fresh start with God."

And John bore witness, saying, "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

Then John said, "I saw the Holy Spirit descending like a dove from heaven and resting upon him.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

I repeat, I know nothing about him except this: The One who authorized me to baptize with water told me, "The One on whom you see the Spirit come down and stay, this One will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'

I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'

I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, "Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

I didn't know he was the one, but when God sent me to baptize with water, he told me, 'When you see the Holy Spirit descending and resting upon someone, he is the one you are looking for. He is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

That's exactly what I saw happen, and I'm telling you, there's no question about it: This is the Son of God."

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and then declared, "Look! There is the Lamb of God!"

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Jesus looked over his shoulder and said to them, "What are you after?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means "Teacher"), "where are you staying?"

Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, "What do you want?" They said, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"

Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?"

Jesus looked around and saw them following. "What do you want?" he asked them. They replied, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

He replied, "Come along and see for yourself." They came, saw where he was living, and ended up staying with him for the day. It was late afternoon when this happened.

"Come," he replied, "and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and spent that day with him. It was about the tenth hour.

He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).

"Come and see," he said. It was about four o'clock in the afternoon when they went with him to the place, and they stayed there the rest of the day.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.

"Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?" Nathanael asked. "Come and see," said Philip.

"Nazareth!" exclaimed Nathanael. "Can anything good come from there?Just come and see for yourself," Philip said.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

When Jesus saw him coming he said, "There's a real Israelite, not a false bone in his body."

When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, he said of him, "Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false."

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!"

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

Nathanael said, "Where did you get that idea? You don't know me." Jesus answered, "One day, long before Philip called you here, I saw you under the fig tree."

"How do you know me?" Nathanael asked. Jesus answered, "I saw you while you were still under the fig tree before Philip called you."

Nathanael said to Him, "How do You know me?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."

"How do you know about me?" Nathanael asked. And Jesus replied, "I could see you under the fig tree before Philip found you."

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

Nathanael exclaimed, "Rabbi! You are the Son of God, the King of Israel!"

John.1.49

Then Nathanael declared, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel."

John.1.49

Nathanael answered and said to Him, "Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"

John.1.49

Nathanael replied, "Teacher, you are the Son of God--the King of Israel!"

John.1.50

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

John.1.50

Jesus said, "You've become a believer simply because I say I saw you one day sitting under the fig tree? You haven't seen anything yet!

John.1.50

Jesus said, "You believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree. You shall see greater things than that."

John.1.50

Jesus answered and said to him, "Because I said to you, "I saw you under the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these."

John.1.50

Jesus asked him, "Do you believe all this just because I told you I had seen you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this."

John.1.51

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

John.1.51

Before this is over you're going to see heaven open and God's angels descending to the Son of Man and ascending again."

John.1.51

He then added, "I tell you the truth, you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

John.1.51

And He said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man."

John.1.51

Then he said, "The truth is, you will all see heaven open and the angels of God going up and down upon the Son of Man."
