Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;

Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.

Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ;

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;

Don't just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ's servants doing what God wants you to do.

Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,

Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.

With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:

And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you're really serving God.

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men,

with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

Eph.6.8

Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free.

because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.

Eph.6.9

And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

Eph.6.9

Masters, it's the same with you. No abuse, please, and no threats. You and your servants are both under the same Master in heaven. He makes no distinction between you and them.

And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.

And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

And in the same way, you masters must treat your slaves right. Don't threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way.

This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.

Eph.6.13

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Be prepared. You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You'll need them throughout your life. God's Word is an indispensable weapon.

In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.

And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

And don't forget to pray for me. Pray that I'll know what to say and have the courage to say it at the right time, telling the mystery to one and all, the Message that I,

Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,

and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words as I boldly explain God's secret plan that the Good News is for the Gentiles, too.

Eph.6.20

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

jailbird preacher that I am, am responsible for getting out.

Eph.6.20

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

I am in chains now for preaching this message as God's ambassador. But pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:

Tychicus, my good friend here, will tell you what I'm doing and how things are going with me. He is certainly a dependable servant of the Master!

Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.

But that you also may know my affairs and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, will make all things known to you;

Tychicus, a much loved brother and faithful helper in the Lord's work, will tell you all about how I am getting along.

Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

I've sent him not only to tell you about us but to cheer you on in your faith.

I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.

I am sending him to you for just this purpose. He will let you know how we are, and he will encourage you.

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
