Deut.30.11

This commandment that I'm commanding you today isn't too much for you, it's not out of your reach.

Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

"For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off.

"This command I am giving you today is not too difficult for you to understand or perform.

It's not on a high mountain--you don't have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it.

It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, "Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?"

"Now listen! Today I am giving you a choice between prosperity and disaster, between life and death.

And I command you today: Love GOD, your God. Walk in his ways. Keep his commandments, regulations, and rules so that you will live, really live, live exuberantly, blessed by GOD, your God, in the land you are about to enter and possess.

But I warn you: If you have a change of heart, refuse to listen obediently, and willfully go off to serve and worship other gods,

Moses went on and addressed these words to all Israel.

"I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has said to me, 'You shall not cross the Jordan.'

And he said to them: "I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also the LORD has said to me, "You shall not cross over this Jordan.'

he said, "I am now 120 years old and am no longer able to lead you. The LORD has told me that I will not cross the Jordan River.

"GOD, your God, will cross the river ahead of you and destroy the nations in your path so that you may dispossess them. (And Joshua will cross the river before you, as GOD said he would.)

The LORD your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the LORD said.

GOD will give the nations the same treatment he gave the kings of the Amorites, Sihon and Og, and their land; he'll destroy them.

"Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you."

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Then Moses summoned Joshua. He said to him with all Israel watching, "Be strong. Take courage. You will enter the land with this people, this land that GOD promised their ancestors that he'd give them. You will make them the proud possessors of it.

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, "Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the LORD swore to their forefathers to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.

Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, "Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched he said to him, "Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the LORD swore to give their ancestors. You are the one who will deliver it to them as their inheritance.

GOD is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you. Don't be intimidated. Don't worry." [JC]

Moses wrote out this Revelation and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the Chest of the Covenant of GOD, and to all the leaders of Israel.

Assemble the people-men, women and children, and the aliens living in your towns-so they can listen and learn to fear the LORD your God and follow carefully all the words of this law.

GOD spoke to Moses: "You are about to die. So call Joshua. Meet me in the Tent of Meeting so that I can commission him." So Moses and Joshua went and stationed themselves in the Tent of Meeting.

The LORD said to Moses, "Now the day of your death is near. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the Tent of Meeting, where I will commission him." So Moses and Joshua came and presented themselves at the Tent of Meeting.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Behold, the days approach when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of meeting, that I may inaugurate him." So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of meeting.

Then the LORD said to Moses, "The time has come for you to die. Call Joshua and take him with you to the Tabernacle, and I will commission him there." So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the Tabernacle.

GOD appeared in the Tent in a Pillar of Cloud. The Cloud was near the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

GOD spoke to Moses: "You're about to die and be buried with your ancestors. You'll no sooner be in the grave than this people will be up and whoring after the foreign gods of this country that they are entering. They will abandon me and violate my Covenant that I've made with them.

And the LORD said to Moses: "You are going to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them.

And the LORD said to Moses: "Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.

The LORD said to Moses, "You are about to die and join your ancestors. After you are gone, these people will begin worshiping foreign gods, the gods of the land where they are going. They will abandon me and break the covenant I have made with them.

I'll get angry, oh so angry! I'll walk off and leave them on their own, won't so much as look back at them. Then many calamities and disasters will devastate them because they are defenseless. They'll say, "Isn't it because our God wasn't here that all this evil has come upon us?'

On that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and difficulties will come upon them, and on that day they will ask, 'Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not with us?'

Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, "Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?'

Then my anger will blaze forth against them. I will abandon them, hiding my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Terrible trouble will come down on them, so that they will say, `These disasters have come because God is no longer among us!'

But I'll stay out of their lives, keep looking the other way because of all their evil: they took up with other gods!

And I will certainly hide my face on that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods.

"But for right now, copy down this song and teach the People of Israel to sing it by heart. They'll have it then as my witness against them.

When I bring them into the land that I promised to their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey, and they eat and become full and get fat and then begin fooling around with other gods and worshiping them,

When I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land I promised on oath to their forefathers, and when they eat their fill and thrive, they will turn to other gods and worship them, rejecting me and breaking my covenant.

and then things start falling apart, many terrible things happening, this song will be there with them as a witness to who they are and what went wrong. Their children won't forget this song; they'll be singing it. Don't think I don't know what they are already scheming to do, and they're not even in the land yet, this land I promised them."

And when many disasters and difficulties come upon them, this song will testify against them, because it will not be forgotten by their descendants. I know what they are disposed to do, even before I bring them into the land I promised them on oath."

Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify against them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten in the mouths of their descendants, for I know the inclination of their behavior today, even before I have brought them to the land of which I swore to give them."

So gather the leaders of the tribes and the officials here. I have something I need to say directly to them with Heaven and Earth as witnesses.

While he had their attention, and because they were getting close to Jerusalem by this time and expectation was building that God's kingdom would appear any minute, he told this story:

"When he returned, the king called in the servants to whom he had given the money. He wanted to find out what they had done with the money and what their profits were.

"The first said, "Master, I doubled your money.'

"The first one came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned ten more.'

Then came the first, saying, "Master, your mina has earned ten minas.'

The first servant reported a tremendous gain--ten times as much as the original amount!

"He said, "Good servant! Great work! Because you've been trustworthy in this small job, I'm making you governor of ten towns.'

"'Well done, my good servant!' his master replied. 'Because you have been trustworthy in a very small matter, take charge of ten cities.'

And he said to him, "Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.'

'Well done!' the king exclaimed. 'You are a trustworthy servant. You have been faithful with the little I entrusted to you, so you will be governor of ten cities as your reward.'

"The second said, "Master, I made a fifty percent profit on your money.'

"The second came and said, 'Sir, your mina has earned five more.'

And the second came, saying, "Master, your mina has earned five minas.'

"The next servant also reported a good gain--five times the original amount.

"He said, "I'm putting you in charge of five towns.'

"His master answered, 'You take charge of five cities.'

Likewise he said to him, "You also be over five cities.'

'Well done!' the king said. 'You can be governor over five cities.'

"The next servant said, "Master, here's your money safe and sound. I kept it hidden in the cellar.

"Then another servant came and said, 'Sir, here is your mina; I have kept it laid away in a piece of cloth.

"Then another came, saying, "Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief.

"But the third servant brought back only the original amount of money and said, 'I hid it and kept it safe.

To tell you the truth, I was a little afraid. I know you have high standards and hate sloppiness, and don't suffer fools gladly.'

I was afraid of you, because you are a hard man. You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.'

For I feared you, because you are an austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.'

I was afraid because you are a hard man to deal with, taking what isn't yours and harvesting crops you didn't plant.'

"He said, "You're right that I don't suffer fools gladly--and you've acted the fool!

"His master replied, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked servant! You knew, did you, that I am a hard man, taking out what I did not put in, and reaping what I did not sow?

And he said to him, "Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow.

"'You wicked servant!' the king roared. 'Hard, am I? If you knew so much about me and how tough I am,

Why didn't you at least invest the money in securities so I would have gotten a little interest on it?'

Why then didn't you put my money on deposit, so that when I came back, I could have collected it with interest?'

Luke.19.23

Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?'

why didn't you deposit the money in the bank so I could at least get some interest on it?'

"Then he said to those standing there, "Take the money from him and give it to the servant who doubled my stake.'

"Then he said to those standing by, 'Take his mina away from him and give it to the one who has ten minas.'

"And he said to those who stood by, "Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.'

Then turning to the others standing nearby, the king ordered, 'Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one who earned the most.'

"They said, "But Master, he already has double...'

Luke.19.25

"'Sir,' they said, 'he already has ten!'

Luke.19.25

(But they said to him, "Master, he has ten minas.')

"'But, master,' they said, 'that servant has enough already!'

Luke.19.26

"He said, "That's what I mean: Risk your life and get more than you ever dreamed of. Play it safe and end up holding the bag.

"He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

"For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

"'Yes,' the king replied, 'but to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. But from those who are unfaithful, even what little they have will be taken away.

As for these enemies of mine who petitioned against my rule, clear them out of here. I don't want to see their faces around here again.'"

But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.'"

But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me."'

And now about these enemies of mine who didn't want me to be their king--bring them in and execute them right here in my presence.'"

After saying these things, Jesus headed straight up to Jerusalem.

When he got near Bethphage and Bethany at the mountain called Olives, he sent off two of the disciples with instructions:

And it came to pass, when He drew near to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mountain called Olivet, that He sent two of His disciples,

As they came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead.

"Go to the village across from you. As soon as you enter, you'll find a colt tethered, one that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it.

"Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

saying, "Go into the village opposite you, where as you enter you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Loose it and bring it here.

"Go into that village over there," he told them, "and as you enter it, you will see a colt tied there that has never been ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

If anyone says anything, asks, "What are you doing?' say, "His Master needs him.'"

If anyone asks you, 'Why are you untying it?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it.'"

And if anyone asks you, "Why are you loosing it?' thus you shall say to him, "Because the Lord has need of it."'

If anyone asks what you are doing, just say, 'The Lord needs it.'"

The two left and found it just as he said.

Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them.

So those who were sent went their way and found it just as He had said to them.

So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said.

As they were untying the colt, its owners said, "What are you doing untying the colt?"

As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying the colt?"

Luke.19.33

But as they were loosing the colt, the owners of it said to them, "Why are you loosing the colt?"

Luke.19.33

And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, "Why are you untying our colt?"

Luke.19.34

They said, "His Master needs him."

Luke.19.34

They replied, "The Lord needs it."

Luke.19.34

And they said, "The Lord has need of him."

Luke.19.34

And the disciples simply replied, "The Lord needs it."

Luke.19.35

They brought the colt to Jesus. Then, throwing their coats on its back, they helped Jesus get on.

They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it.

Then they brought him to Jesus. And they threw their own clothes on the colt, and they set Jesus on him.

So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on.

As he rode, the people gave him a grand welcome, throwing their coats on the street.

As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road.

And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road.

Then the crowds spread out their coats on the road ahead of Jesus.

Right at the crest, where Mount Olives begins its descent, the whole crowd of disciples burst into enthusiastic praise over all the mighty works they had witnessed:

When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen,

As they reached the place where the road started down from the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.

Blessed is he who comes, the king in God's name! All's well in heaven! Glory in the high places!

Some Pharisees from the crowd told him, "Teacher, get your disciples under control!"

Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"

And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples."

But some of the Pharisees among the crowd said, "Teacher, rebuke your followers for saying things like that!"

Luke.19.40

But he said, "If they kept quiet, the stones would do it for them, shouting praise."

Luke.19.40

"I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

Luke.19.40

But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

Luke.19.40

He replied, "If they kept quiet, the stones along the road would burst into cheers!"

Luke.19.41

When the city came into view, he wept over it.

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it

Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it,

But as they came closer to Jerusalem and Jesus saw the city ahead, he began to cry.

"If you had only recognized this day, and everything that was good for you! But now it's too late.

Luke.19.42

and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes.

Luke.19.42

saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

Luke.19.42

"I wish that even today you would find the way of peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from you.

Luke.19.43

In the days ahead your enemies are going to bring up their heavy artillery and surround you, pressing in from every side.

The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side.

Luke.19.43

For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side,

Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you.

Luke.19.44

They'll smash you and your babies on the pavement. Not one stone will be left intact. All this because you didn't recognize and welcome God's personal visit."

They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."

and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation."

They will crush you to the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you have rejected the opportunity God offered you."

GOD majestic, praise abounds in our God--city! His sacred mountain,

It is magnificent in elevation--the whole earth rejoices to see it! Mount Zion, the holy mountain, is the city of the great King!

God in his citadel peaks impregnable.

God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress.

God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge.

God himself is in Jerusalem's towers. He reveals himself as her defender.

The kings got together, they united and came.

When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together,

For behold, the kings assembled, They passed by together.

The kings of the earth joined forces and advanced against the city.

They took one look and shook their heads, they scattered and ran away.

they saw her and were astounded; they fled in terror.

They saw it, and so they marveled; They were troubled, they hastened away.

But when they saw it, they were stunned; they were terrified and ran away.

They doubled up in pain like a woman having a baby.

Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor.

You smashed the ships of Tarshish with a storm out of the East.

or like the mighty ships of Tarshish being shattered by a powerful east wind.

We heard about it, then we saw it with our eyes--In GOD's city of angel armies, in the city our God Set on firm foundations, firm forever.

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever. Selah

We had heard of the city's glory, but now we have seen it ourselves--the city of the LORD Almighty. It is the city of our God; he will make it safe forever.
